How to Unwind on the Weekend After Working From Home

Our Guide to Weekend Relaxation With Your Partner After Working From Home All Week

We partnered with Campbell's® to give you everything you need to chill out after a week of working from home — especially when sheltering in place with your partner.

There's no denying that we're living through unprecedented times, where stress and anxiety are pretty much a given. That may be especially true if you're sheltering in place with your partner; no matter how strong a relationship is, the 24/7 togetherness can be tough. Those feelings can be exacerbated even more if the two of you are trying to work from home in the same space. So we're encouraging you to take the weekend to relax, unwind, and reconnect both to yourself and the one you love. Keep reading for a few fun and simple activities to relieve some of the stress of staying at home all day, every day — and find new ways to truly enjoy each other and make the most of your newfound time.

The first requirement for a no-work weekend when stuck at home: stay in bed as long as you want! There's no shame in staying cozy beneath the covers, especially when you're trying to stay indoors. When both of your stomachs start to growl, head to the kitchen to prepare a savory brunch — cooking together is perhaps our favorite weekend-morning activity, especially when it gives you extra time to bond and enjoy each other's company.

Bake something hearty that you can continue to snack on all day, like this Cheddar Broccoli Frittata. It features Campbell’s® Condensed Broccoli Cheese Soup as the base, which gives an extra creamy texture to the eggy favorite. A medley of veggies like mushrooms, onions, zucchini, and scallions (plus a healthy helping of cheddar!) makes for a super flavorful and robust meal. Plus, the skillet will keep it warm so you can go back for seconds — or thirds — throughout the afternoon.

Then, head to the couch! Don't feel bad about staying in your PJs all day — in fact, we encourage it. Get comfortable with plush pillows and snuggly blankets, and spend the afternoon watching feel-good movies or finally press play on that multiseason series you've been putting off. Use the weekend to reenergize yourself and reconnect to a sense of normalcy with your partner. Maybe you make a plan for the week ahead to make it feel more manageable, or you can just sit quietly and zone out together. Either way, remember that you deserve a moment to simply relax and unwind during these times — so take advantage!
