Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes went old Hollywood style for their black and white photo shoots featured in the Holiday/Reinvention Issue of T Magazine. In their respective interviews, Tom and Katie both talk about their careers, fame, and family life. You can check out video interviews with both, but here are highlights:

Katie on Broadway: "I’ve been looking for years to do a play. The first time I came to New York, I was with my mom. We stayed at the Marriott Marquis, and we went to Sardi’s, which was amazing. But best of all, we went to see Annie I could get up on a table now and sing 'The sun will come out tomorrow.' Now I take Suri to the theater. She’s seen Hairspray twice — she waves hello to Tracy Turnblad and says ‘Hi, Tracy.’ She thinks she knows her."
Katie on her public image: "There’s a misperception about me that I just became this wallflower, this woman who doesn’t have any control of her life. That I just became a wife. And that’s pretty wrong. From the very beginning, I’ve made choices in my life that have been very strong. When I met Tom, I was completely in love and, yes, I admired him growing up — he’s Tom Cruise! And, yes, I followed his movies and maybe had his photo up on my wall. I thought, How does he do what he does? And when I met him, he was so warm and I thought, Wow! You can be a superstar and a human being. He made me feel so amazing."
Tom on his first trip to LA:: "I met Sean Penn while we were shooting Taps, and afterward he said, 'You have to come to L.A.' So I flew out, and Penn picked me up at the airport and drove me around L.A. We went to Nicholson’s house. And Brando’s. And Dustin Hoffman’s. We didn’t go in, but we thought, 'What do you think those guys are doing right now?’"

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had a big night out at the Tina Turner concert in NYC on Monday night, but yesterday they were up and at 'em running errands with a sleepy Suri. Katie was lucky to have some time off to focus on her loved ones and famous holiday guests, since All My Sons was on a Thanksgiving break until their first performance tonight while Tom took Suri around the city. Katie needed a venti on her way to rehearsal today after all the family fun, but the multitasking mom probably wouldn't have it any other way.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes joined Anne Hathaway backstage at the Tina Turner concert in NYC last night. Anne deserves a night of celebration now that Rachel Getting Married is leading the 2009 Independent Spirit Award nominations, including a best actress nod for her. Katie finally had a chance to relax on her night off from Broadway after a busy week with the Beckhams. We'll get to see more of Tom this Thursday when Barbara Walters interviews him for her Most Fascinating People of 2008, and he opens up about why he doesn't talk about his religion anymore after his Oprah couch-jumping experience. In the meantime, he seemed to be enjoying himself with his wife as he watched Tina perform for his second concert since October.

The Beckhams Cruise Around Thanksgiving Weekend in NYC

The Cruises and Beckhams rolled in force around NYC over the long weekend. With all six of their kids all bundled up and ready to take on the city they must have been quite a sight. On Thanksgiving afternoon the whole crew headed to Central Park and that was just the beginning. Between shopping, carriage rides, taking in some Broadway shows, a trip to the circus and meals all over it was quite the full weekend for the celebrity friends. Wonder if they squeezed in a trip to show Brooklyn his namesake borough. By Sunday, Victoria headed to London to help comfort Tana Ramsay, whose husband Gordon is rumored to be having an affair and David is soon headed to New Zealand with his team. Tom and Katie will be in NYC for a few months more while she's on stage so maybe Suri will get to show her Beckham playmates more of her city.

The Beckhams Arrive on Broadway With Tom in the Lead

The entire Beckham family packed their bags and headed to the East Coast for the long holiday weekend to meet up with their friends the Cruises. Even in Manhattan, the family stood out dressed to the nines, Victoria and David at least, for an afternoon on the town with Tom as their personal tour guide. Earlier this fall, Victoria said that they would definitely be making the trip to see Katie Holmes on Broadway and it looks like they lined it up perfectly to spend Thanksgiving with good friends.

Tom Cruise looks like his Color of Money character with his powerful stare on the cover of Details magazine. John Mayer, Robert Downey Jr., and Nick Jonas all made this year's "Power List" with Tom at No. 7 spot as Leading Man. Tom talks about controversial Valkyrie and what he has in common with his character. Here's more:

On why he chose the film: "When you make people reconsider something that they're so certain of . . . I found it very compelling. It's the reason I'm doing it. When I was a kid, we'd play war, you know, and it was always 'Kill the Nazis.' I wanted to kill Hitler. [. . .] It's about doing the right thing, but also about finding out what the right thing is. You know what I mean? I do feel that this movie was the right thing to do . . . I love movies. Yeah, man, I love movies!"
On people criticizing the movie: "There's always someone telling you not to make a movie. When I did Born on the Fourth of July, they said, 'This is going to ruin your career. What are you doing?' Suicide? I've committed it. There were people who didn't want me to make Top Gun."
On whether he relates to his character: "Certain decisions at points in my life . . . I absolutely related. Stauffenberg went from saying, 'Someone should shoot that bastard' to realizing, I'm the only one who can do it. You can't really know until you're under that kind of pressure. I'm not saying this in some chest-pounding way, but I do feel I'd have that kind of courage."

Tom Cruise sounds passionate about his new movie, which opens up Dec. 26. It may not seem like cheery holiday fare, but it will be a typically action packed Tom Cruise film.

Katie Holmes hit the stage to perform in All My Sons on Broadway last night, but this time it was different. It was the show's official opening night and Katie's smile was bigger than ever as she took her bow and posed outside after the play. Of course, Tom Cruise was there to support his wife and I'm sure found time to gush even more about her performance at the after party. The only damper on the evening was the protesters against Scientology out to make a scene. After last night's big show, the first reviews are out and while they're a mixed bag for Katie and the production in general, it's a pretty big accomplishment for the actress. Congrats to Katie who deserves every standing ovation she gets.

Tom took his children Connor and Isabella out to dinner at Le Bernadin on Friday night with a sleepy red-clad Suri, and on Saturday afternoon Katie took the kids back to their favorite place, Alice's Tea Cup, for an afternoon snack. She was also joined by her parents Martin and Kathleen, as well as Tom's mom Mary Lee, before she and Tom were able to fit in some alone time on Sunday night. Suri's become quite the city slicker these past few weeks taking in the Manhattan sites and hitting up all the kid-friendly hot spots with mom and dad. We just got a taste of Katie's sexy Eli Stone look and the trailer for Tom's troubled and intense Valkyrie, which may have trouble finding an audience, but at the end of the day the parents are both all about Suri. How could you resist the little superstar with her adorable blue sash — too sweet.

The couple wore gray out together on Sunday night, but what's even more interesting is catching a first look at Katie's Eli Stone getup and details about her role. She plays a lawyer, Grace, who appears to Eli in a vision singing and dancing dressed in skintight black before meeting him in real life at a basketball game. We may not all be able to make it to NYC to check out her Broadway debut, but I'll definitely be tuning in to see sexy Katie back on TV Oct. 21.

Suri Cruise got a special treat on Saturday when she and Tom Cruise paid a visit to a Build-A-Bear workshop in NYC. She's no stranger to great presents, but considering how happy she looks in the store and in her daddy's arms on their way home, this day seemed especially thrilling for the toddler. Tom kept a watchful eye on Suri while Katie was busy working but he returned to the audience on Friday night to catch All My Sons for another viewing. The play is expected to run through early January so hopefully we'll get to see more of sweet Suri in the city shopping for the holidays.

Katie was already back to baggy jeans uniform on her way to rehearsal today, while Tom gushed about his wife saying he's so proud of her and that the show means a lot to her. It looks like all those weeks of rehearsals have paid off, and we are sure to hear more about Katie as the previews continue before the official opening on October 16.
