JT Gets Hands-On

Too bad we're talking in the metaphorical sense here. With Sundance coming to a close, Justin's getting ready for his big Grammy performance on February 11th, which he'll rehearse with the winner of My Grammy Idol. Five finalists have been chosen, and JT had a major hand in the selection. Here's more:

"I was hands-on," Timberlake tells PEOPLE. "I looked at some tapes and gave my opinion."

The winner of the text-message and online vote will be announced just moments before the performance on Feb. 11, though the field will be narrowed down to three finalists by Feb. 4.

"To become a recording artist and the first time the world gets to hear them is at the Grammys, I don't think the opportunity gets any better or bigger," says Timberlake, who competed on the talent show Star Search as a kid.

The newly single star got a preview of the finalists' voices last week when they sang En Vogue's "Don't Let Go" for him. "They all have great voices," he says, adding with a goofball grin, "A couple of them are lookers too!"

Looks like newly single JT is keeping his eyes open at all times, but after Britney, I doubt he'd go for a potential pop star. For more pics in Park City, just

Kevin Bacon's Six Degrees

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon are having a good month. She just won a Golden Globe and Kevin finally figured out what to do with the popular Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game. Instead of capitalizing on it, he's started a great charity called SixDegrees.org. It's a social networking site for charity where you can (among other things) support the causes of participating celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Kanye West. Kevin will match the the top six non-celeb fundraisers by donating up to $10,000 to their cause. To find out more about it go to SixDegrees.org

Leto Continues His Reign of Sundance Terror

You'd think Jared Leto would want to keep a low profile after getting into a spat with a photographer at the Sundance film festival, but you'd be wrong. He apparently lashed out again last night, this time threatening to smash a bottle over the head of a total stranger. Page Six Reports:

While Hasidic hip-hop artist Matisyahu was performing, Leto unsuccessfully tried chatting up Michelle Smith (rumored girlfriend of Chris Robinson), then began bumping into people in the crowded venue as he headed back to his table. When a fellow patron told Leto to "relax," Leto grabbed a liquor bottle and held it above the guy's head. Spies said when bouncers asked Leto to leave, he responded by holding up a beer bottle as he was led out.

Gwyneth's Sorry For Not Being Britney

Gwyneth took a break from the indie-movie scene at Sundance to read to kids on Wednesday with mom-to-be Keri Russell. Unfortunately, the kids were hoping for another famous blonde. As Gwyn was being introduced as a "very special guest," one of the kids called out, "Is it Britney Spears?" Gwyneth didn't take the comment personally. Kids will be kids, after all. "I'm sorry I'm not Britney Spears," she said, "but I'll work on my dance routine." She of course quickly won them over with a sing-along and a reading of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

You know that's the first and last time she'll ever be apologizing for not being Britney! They may have a few things in common like having two kids, but they are worlds apart in about everything else. For more pics of Gwyneth in Park City, just

Mandy's Busy Year

Mandy Moore is on a promotional tour. These pics are from Sundance and as much as we love Mandy we're not loving the mustard outfit. Luckily she looked like her beautiful self on Letterman last night. She's one busy lady these days with lots to promote. Here's highlights:

It's a big year for you: A new film (Because I Said So), an album, a Sundance film (Dedication). Did you plan it this way?
It's all serendipitous. Obviously, last year I knew that 2007 was going to be sort of a year of change for me because I had all of these new projects, which really reflect a lot of growth that occurred last year. So I've been looking forward to 2007 for a while now.
The media will certainly analyze the lyrics looking for clues about your past relationships (especially with ex-boyfriend Zach Braff).
I'm not really worried about it. People can infer what they want from the songs and that's perfectly fine. I just know in a selfish way it was like therapy for me. Whatever was going on in my life, just to be able to get it down and turn a negative situation into something I felt a little more positive about at the end of the day, it's cathartic.

Seems like she's in a pretty good place to us. And if she wants to bare her soul, her music is just going to be better for it. We can't wait to hear Mandy's new music and check her out on the big screen. Until then enjoy more pics of Mandy at the Dedication premiere just

Wet Hot Generous Sundance

These days, exclusive movie festivals seem as much about free stuff for celebs as they are about the films. At this year's Sundance, the festival's Papa, Robert Redford, has even been seen wearing a pin that says "Focus on Film"...but it's not really helping much. So much for the power of words, eh Redford? JK, buddy. There is hope, however, because some celebs are choosing to donate their freebies to worthy causes rather than throw them on top of their endless piles of other superfluous stuff (which I assume exist in every celeb home). Here's more:

The adorable Adam Brody picked up a leather messenger bag from one of the swag stations and immediately brought it to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society table so it could be auctioned off for charity. Like we needed another reason to love him.

Donating, in fact, became the "in" thing this year at the normally opulent event. Not only did the LLS set up shop, but the filmmakers of "Low and Behold" also provided a drop box for freebies to benefit Hurricane Katrina survivors.

So what did the original receivers think of the new giving-back trend?

"I actually don't believe in charity," actor's actor Paul Rudd told us. "By working hard and entertaining the world, I think I deserve a cashmere stereo."

He was joking, of course (though I wouldn't mind cuddling with a cashmere stereo. Mmmm, cashmere), and said that he would stop by the donation suites soon. I love me some Paul Rudd, but I hope this gnome look is put to rest soon (I swear, underneath the beard, he's hot). Adam Brody being cute and giving, too? Be still my dork-loving heart.

Sundance Isn't All About Movies

Gwyneth Paltrow and Keri Russell took some time out from promoting their films to read to kids at Village at the Lift in Park City this week. Gwyneth read a Dr. Seuss book and Keri chose Where The Wild Things Are which is one of my favorites. Looks like Keri is getting some good practice in since soon she'll have a little one of her own to read to!

Black Snake Moan, Odd Movie or the Oddest?

Christina Ricci, Samuel L. Jackson and Justin Timberlake are all at Sundance to promote Black Snake Moan, or, as I like to call it, The Weirdest Freaking Movie of All Time, For Real, Watch The Trailer and Then Get Back to Me On Whether It Makes Sense/What Genre It Even Is (yeah, my name for it is a mouthful, let's just stick with the real title). While the film may confuse, befuddle and bewilder me a little bit, the stars all look pretty great in the portrait studio. Though, to be fair, I'm not sure JT is a "star" so much as "in a couple scenes."

John Cusack: A Love Song

Even though I have to (finally) admit that John Cusack is looking a little more, uh, mature these days, it's still comforting like a warm blanket to see his face at Sundance this year. Lloyd Dobler/Martin Blank/Rob Gordon is at Sundance to promote Grace is Gone, a film in which he is none of those previously mentioned characters, but I like to think he keeps a little piece of each of them with him at all times (like he's secretly an assassin who can make an overly-examined mix tape and will begrudgingly accept a pen in exchange for his heart).

Plus, I totally suspect Jeremy Piven is really the jerky party in their recent man feud, but maybe I'm biased (and think Piven, though great on Entourage, should realize that he's not actually Ari Gold).

Dakota Fanning's Nude Scene Doesn't Exist

One of the most controversial films at Sundance this year, Dakota Fanning's Hounddog, turned out to be...not all that controversial. The film contains a scene in which Fanning's character is raped by a slightly older boy, but the final cut is not nearly as explicit as initial reports were saying. Ahhh, leave it to the old rumor mill to make things out to be more than they actually are. At Sundance, Dakota talked openly for the first time about her experience making the film and the pre-screening backlash. Here's more:

Some who bashed the film's concept "were attacking my family and me, and that's where it got too far," says Fanning, 12, jabbing her finger into a table at a restaurant. "Pretty much everybody who talked about it attacked my mother, which I did not appreciate. That was extremely uncalled for and hurtful."

Sundance Draws Celebs from A to Zooey

One of my favorite things about Sundance is so many of my favorite celebs come out of the woodwork at the same time. Zooey Dechanel may not be plastered all over the tabloids like Paris and Lindsay, but she'll always have a special place in my heart (she was the inspiration for BuzzSugar, after all). She was the best part of Almost Famous, the only bearable part of Failure to Launch, and an extra added bonus to the always-awesome Weeds. She's at the festival to promote her new film, The Good Life with Ginnifer Goodwin and Chris Klein, in which I'm sure she knocks it out of the park.

Awww, she's so quirky and cute, even when she wears slightly bizarre clothes. Plus, she seems like a complete kooky but kind of dark sweetheart in that Wonder Showzen-brought-to-life sort of way. You know, if that makes sense at all.

Jared Leto Hates Everyone at Sundance

Jared Leto (shockingly!) acted like a prima donna at Sundance this weekend. The ~~actor~~ ~~rock star~~ Champion of Eyeliner, there to promote his movie Chapter 27 (fine, I guess he's an actor, a rocker, and a CoE) decided that he didn't want his picture taken while out at a club and was seen picking fights with fellow VIPers. Page Six reports:

JARED Leto was in a foul mood at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Saturday night. Leto, who was promoting "Chapter 27" (in which he plays John Lennon's assassin) picked fights with photographers and clubgoers in the VIP section of Tao at Harry O's. When a photographer from WireImage attempted to snap Leto's picture, the eyeliner- clad cad shouted, "No! No more, bro!" Leto walked out - but not before a "big guy" yanked at his long tresses. Leto "whipped off his hat with earflaps on and stepped up to the guy," said a spy. "They were yelling at each other." But no punches were thrown. And though Leto left, he came back a couple hours later to look for the guy.

While Jared may not have been the sole instigator in this altercation, it's not the first time he's gotten into a public scuffle (you may remember his run in with Elijah Wood last fall). It sounds like if the guy hates publicity so much he should steer clear of big photo festivals like Sundance. Just saying.

Leto was also reported to have freaked out when he heard that Justin Timberlake may have been planning to perform at a party attended by the 30 Seconds to Mars frontman. Perhaps it had something to do with their mutual ex Cameron Diaz?

Sienna is REALLY Enjoying Herself at Sundance

Sienna is definitely living up to her party girl reputation at Sundance. Jude evidently dumped her because he was tired of her partying so this time she's doing it right by hanging out with guys who share her favorite past time. She was seen last week getting cozy with Josh Hartnett and they continued wherever they left off during celeb karaoke in the Heineken room in Park City. Still, that didn't stop Josh from "flirting with all the ladies" at the fest.

But don't feel bad for Sienna. She partnered up with Diddy at the Golden Globes, and the two have been seen in each others company quite a few times since. You know he'll never lecture her on partying too much even if he is a dad to a new set of twins. Where are those kids anyway? For more pics just

James Isn't Planning to Visit Lindsay

We really wanted any lame story we could find so we had an excuse to post these cute pics of James Franco at Sundance. He was there to promote his film, An American Crime. Last week when LL went to rehab we quickly heard rumors that James' total disinterest in Lindsay may have caused her to go over the edge the night before she headed to Wonderland. While James may not be that into LL, he told Access Hollywood that he hopes his friend gets better but he has no plans to visit her. Well, we hope this news doesn't upset LL.

Keri Russell is Pregnant

Keri Russell had a lot to smile about at Sundance this weekend, where she attended the premiere of her new indie flick, Waitress. What is even more exciting is that the former Felicity star has just confirmed that she's pregnant with her first child. People reports that the actress and her fiancé Shane Deary will be having their baby this summer. No wedding date has been set so they may be following that latest Hollywood trend of baby before marriage. Stay tuned.

Mandy's Sundance Dreamz

Mandy Moore has come a long way from that teenage girl who had to just pretend to drive a car in her music video because she was too young to actually drive. To her, though, she can't forget about that period of her life soon enough. In February's Jane Mandy admits, "I feel bad that people wasted their money on such trite, blah pop music." Awww, don't feel bad Mandy, at least you've made up for your missteps by choosing better projects like ~~Racing Stripes~~ Saved! Mandy also opened up about a dark period of her life, People reports:

"A few months ago I felt really low, really sad – depressed for no reason," the singer and actress tells Jane magazine in its February issue. "I'm a very positive person, and I've always been glass-half-full. So it was like someone flipped a switch in me."

Moore, 22, and Braff, 31, split last year. Moore says the separation did not trigger her depression, but may have exacerbated it. "The breakup added to what I was going through, but it's not the complete reason," she says. "It definitely doesn't help if you're already in that place."

Moore does not speculate on what else might have caused her depression, but says it prompted some serious introspection.

"I've been going through this really crazy time in my life," she tells Jane. "I'm asking myself life-altering questions, like 'Who am I? Where do I fit in this world? What am I doing? What do I want to do? Am I living to my full potential?' "

Hopefully, DJ AM has been able to switch back on her inner happiness light bulb, because when Mandy is happy she just lights up the room. Wow, I really took that metaphor a little far, didn't I?

The Ten Premieres at Sundance

Winona Ryder, Adam Brody and Paul Rudd were just some of the stars who were on hand for the premiere of director David Wain's The Ten. Jessica Alba is also in the film but evidently she didn't make it to the festival. Love that Adam Brody wouldn't put down his burger for the promo pics! But it's all in good fun, just like the film itself, which is composed of ten interrelated short films, each one based on one of the Ten Commandments. Even before it premiered it was getting buzz for its impressive cast and dark but silly humor. For instance, Winona's story involves her being romantically infatuated with a ventriloquist dummy. Sounds a little odd but we're just psyched she'll be back on the big screen soon.

Indie Adam Enjoys His Indie Film Festival

Sundance may have only started a few days ago, but newly single (hopefully single and not really dating Dunst) Adam Brody is certainly making himself seen around Park City. And I'm not complaining. He may continually rock the emotastic not-quite-a-smile-I'm-so-sensitive-all-the-time-and-can't-express-real-joy smile but it's just too adorable to find smug.

Now if only he had Rachel on his arm while collecting all his free swag, he would be perfect.

Mandy and AM Take A Walk To Remember*

Okay fine, I give in--Mandy Moore and DJ AM are cute. Though, they look less than thrilled in these pictures so perhaps all my internal struggles and ultimate resignation are all for naught. That, or I guess it could be annoying to be constantly followed by photographers.

Mandy and AM (DJ? That's not his name. Do his friends just call him Adam?) are in Park City, Utah, Sundancing it up with all the other celebrities. That's all well and good, but I'm looking forward to their return to Los Angeles so I never have to see AM's jacket again.

Sundance Has Started!

It's that time of year again! Sundance Film Festival kicked off this weekend which means all of your favorite indie (and not so indie) actors all got bundled up and headed to Park City, Utah. They will spend their time watching great films, doing some interviews, maybe get some skiing in, and oh yeah get a ton of free stuff while partying all night long. The young Hollywood crowd came out for the Motorola Late Night Lounge and it was a pleasure to see some of our favorite boys like Scott Speedman and Adam Brody. Tara Reid was also there continuing to not look drunk or trashy which we love. The way she's looking now, she actually might have a shot with some of these hotties.
