Lohan Family Drama Heats Up Because Michael Won't Shut Up

Lindsay Lohan took a break from filming Ugly Betty in NYC yesterday to unwind with cigarettes and Samantha in NYC after the massive amount of drama that her father has been fueling in the past couple of days. After LL lashed out at him on her MySpace blog, her father answered back, blaming Dina for his suspicions about Samantha and saying that he's already got a TV special in the works to expose Dina for being a hypocrite. Here's a taste of what he wants to say:

"I've never taken or earned one penny from my daughter. Meanwhile, all the people around her, including her mother, are earning money off of her. They want publicity. They're there for self-serving reasons. I didn't have my own reality TV show. As far as I'm concerned, Samantha Ronson doesn't exist. I've met her. She can't even look in my eye. She knows I know what she's all about . . . She's controlling. Sooner or later, her relationship with Samantha will fall apart, and I'm sure Lindsay will come back someday and say, 'Daddy, you were right all along' — just like she did with so many other people in her past. I'm not holding out hope. I know she will."

Unfortunately, LL's family sadness doesn't end there. Her grandfather passed away yesterday, which has already brought more anger from Michael regarding Dina and their children. To top it all off, her uncle was sentenced to a year in prison for fraud. Lindsay seems to be staying busy with work and Samantha through it all, but unfortunately it looks like the Lohan family drama is here to stay.

It was a family affair for Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson at the Sephora 10th anniversary party in NYC last night. On the Lohan front, Dina and brother (not father) Michael hit the red carpet with their sequins-ed out sister while Samantha had her sister Charlotte out for the night. Seems like LL and SR can't be too worried about family talking these days. Nicky Hilton didn't have Paris by her side to stick with the sibling trend, but there were more than enough girls around to party with.

Michael Lohan brought his girlfriend to visit Lindsay on the set of Labor Pains yesterday, looking happy despite yet another controversy. OK! magazine is reporting that Michael had a brief relationship in the early '90s while temporarily separated from Dina, which resulted in a now-13-year-old daughter. He has yet to confirm or deny the story and says only that his lawyers are addressing the matter. Anything could be expected from the Lohans at this point but are you surprised to hear that Michael Lohan may have a secret illegitimate child?

Lindsay and Riley Take In Some Ball and Hit the Road

After a long weekend in NYC shopping, eating and spending Thanksgiving with her family, Lindsay stopped to see her little brother Cody's basketball game on Saturday and then headed off to the airport Sunday, Riley in tow. Even on the cold cold east coast, LL went for leggings rather than proper pants the whole time. Ali Lohan may be looking more and more like mini grown up Lindsay, but at least she's still in jeans. Despite rumblings that Lindsay and Riley have already hit the skids, he seems to still be perfectly happy to follow two steps behind her at all times. Hey, must be a pretty sweet gig.

LL is Ready to Use Her "Gift" of Acting "The Right Way"

Lindsay Lohan isn't living at Cirque anymore, but she's not ready to leave Utah just yet. Over the weekend she spent more time with her father, and, in typical Lohan family fashion, found some time to give her first post-rehab interview to OK! Magazine. The issue, which includes a revealing interview as well as a photoshoot of her both leaving and out of rehab (naturally), hits stands on Friday. Here are highlights:

On her plans: "I'm staying in Utah until it's time to shoot Dare to Love Me and then I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions."
On leaving Hollywood all together: "Absolutely not — never! I'm here to stay. My talent is a gift, and I'm going to use it in the right way."
On her second arrest being "rock bottom": "Everything in my life came to a point where I had to make a decision; the arrest that night helped me come to a point where I had to make one."

Like father like daughter both Lindsay and Michael are really consistent with their questionably flattering fashion decisions — on Linds it's the leggings and on Michael it's the tucked in turtlenecks. She seems to be happily enjoying the fall in Utah, but rumor has it she'll be returning to LA soon...but just for some dental work and then it's right back to Cirque for LL. While I can't blame Lindsay for wanting to stay in what's probably the most normal and stable place she's ever lived, hopefully she realizes that she can have her sober fun wherever she chooses to go when she gets out. Ugh, and fingers crossed her friends & family want to encourage her new healthy lifestyle too.

Lindsay and Michael have been reunited in Utah, and apparently it feels so good. Either that, or they just milked it the best they could for a good photo op. Lindsay does look pretty genuinely happy here, ~~posing~~ just hanging out with her dad in the rose garden. Did she get her hair lightened for the special photo shoot? Seriously how blonde is she going to get in Utah? Love the black matching outfits. It's all so natural, isn't it? Anyway, hopefully seeing her father again will only help the recovery process and keep Lindsay grounded. We still don't trust Michael at all, but we'll keep our fingers crossed since it looks like this is something that Lindsay really wanted.

A Lohan Family Reunion!

Lindsay confessed her broken heart through her moving lyrics about her daddy. Now as part of LL's rehab process, she allowed her father to visit her in Utah. The abusive father who has been in and out of jail has found Jesus yet still loves himself some media coverage. This is gold to him. We're just thrilled Lindsay is still working on getting healthy. It's been a nice break this summer without her. As for the important reunion, E! reports:

"The moment Lindsay saw Michael, she started running and jumped into her father's arms," says an eyewitness to the reunion. "Her father hugged her and swung her around. Lindsay was so happy. It was very emotional."

Reached for comment after the Thursday afternoon visit, Michael, normally very chatty with the press, refused to reveal any details. But the Lohan patriarch was clearly overjoyed. "I can't comment on my relationship with my daughter," he said. "But [the reunion] was amazing."

We're not so sure we support the Lindsay and Michael Lohan reunion but it is all part of the healing recovery process and since they are both going through it perhaps all parties will come out changed. Let's just hope Michael doesn't run to every media outlet available to dish on his special day with his daughter. Sounds like he already has learned it's important to keep his mouth shut this time around.

Lindsay and Her Daddy to Reunite

Lindsay has been laying low (well, sort of) in rehab in Utah and the latest in her healing process is to meet with her estranged father. The terrible battle between Dina and Michael Lohan has been just one of the many reasons she has stayed away from him. That and his crazy ways of communicating from jail, via letters and odd songs. Lindsay's brother Michael suggested they meet and even Dina apparently thinks it's a good idea so she can get "closure." Dina even lifted a restraining order so he could visit Lindsay. Page Six reports the meeting will be taking place but they won't be left alone. They are both trying to remain sober so they can bond over that and maybe Lindsay will even get some new material for her next album.

Her mom-ager Dina is apparently about to make her first visit to Promises. Kind of makes you wonder if she skipped town to avoid the latest custody battle against LL's dad Michael. He was the only parent to show up at a recent hearing only to find out that there's another delay in visitation proceedings because of Dina's absence. He claimed that LL has lost her way since her parents split. Hmm, funny how he didn't mention that they were such poor role models themselves doing drugs and being in jail.

Lindsay Rehabs, Everyone Else Talks About Her

Apart from one short excursion out of the center, Lindsay has been quietly hanging out at Promises since she checked herself in Monday afternoon. Luckily, she doesn't have to tell us how it's going because everyone else is happy to do the job for her. Her friend told People, "She's happy where she is and is just taking time to herself to learn and be okay. I've been in touch with her and she likes it." I'm not sure that rehab is really meant to be liked, but okay.

Her lovely father felt the need to open up to E! about his daughter's supposed abuse of OxyContin. Thanks, dad! As he told the network, "I spoke to the people treating Lindsay, because I wanted to make sure she was getting the right care. And I'm satisfied they are doing the right thing for her, helping her detox from the painkillers and things. That's a very important step."

As for that movie career, the producers of her upcoming movie Poor Things, Shirley MacLaine and Rob Hickman, say they will rearrange the shooting schedule to accommodate Linds. Though other industry insiders are saying that all this controversy will end up costing Lindsay roles. Wouldn't be surprised.

And in the final bit of Lohan news, Lindsay's lawyer (who had an oddly involved role in all this -- what happened to Zelnick?) has said that her 21st B-Day party in Vegas will go on! Vodka sponsor or not! Sounds...healthy.

Lindsay's Not Daddy's Little Girl

Lindsay took some time out of her very busy schedule to pick up some trinkets in Chinatown the other day. She's back on the west coast which should help her stay away from her recently released from prison father. We know LL's life is complicated but this girl has serious Daddy issues. Lindsay is going through great measures to make sure Michael stays far away from her including having extra security so he didn't crash one of her parties . Now LL has reached out to her Dad but it's not the Daddy's little girl reunion he hoped for. Page Six reports:

Lindsay told him, "You still haven't changed. Don't go near my mother ever again," a source told Page Six. "It wasn't the phone call Michael wanted." Michael had hoped to patch things up with his daughter. But after talking to her dad, "Lindsay called her mother [Dina] and told her to be careful and to take care of her brother and sister," said our source.

Michael blames all his troubles on a "con man" uncle, but we're sure he isn't any angel. Space from her father (and possibly crazy Dina, too) sounds like just what Lindsay needs.

Lohan Committed to the Nightlife

It's been a pretty non-stop week in New York for everyone's favorite hair chameleon, Lindsay Lohan. One might think she would lay low after the maybe/maybe not running down a paparazzi (meanwhile, check out the video of the incident -- he basically throws himself on her car and starts wailing for no reason), but not Lindsay! Plus her father has been released from his upstate NY jail and obviously wasted no time before talking to the press about hoping that Lindsay will "open the door" in reconnecting with him, but that doesn't force Lindsay into seclusion either! Nothing (NOTHING) keeps her out of the scene. Even rehab. She's quite the committed club kid. Golf claps.

In other Lohan news, remember last month when we reported that Lindsay had dropped out of the upcoming film A Woman of No Importance and was replaced by Jessica Biel. It seems she's been replaced in another film as well; this time the part is going to Bryce Dallas Howard in The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond. Aw, come on guys...Lindsay isn't that hard to deal with.

Lindsay Gets Dina into Clubs, Jets to Hang With Jude

Dina and Lindsay (or is the other one Lindsay...I can't tell) seemed to have quite the time together in NY this weekend. It's good to see that Dina is keeping an eye on her recently out of rehab 20-year-old daughter. Or ~~using her to get into~~ partying with her at clubs, either way. Lindsay did tear herself away from mommy dearest late night though, when she spent her time meeting up with none other than Jude Law at new Lower East Side bar, The Box. Lindsay's dad is scheduled to be released from prison today, but who knows whether she'll decide she wants to see him before setting off to London to shoot The Best Time of Our Lives. Well, it sounds like she'll have one new friend in the new city. Hey, Jude is known to like himself a younger party girl, after all.

Lindsay Back in Touch With Her Father

Of all the difficult relationships in Lindsay's life, the one with her father is quite possibly the hardest, but things may finally be looking up. Soon after she checked into rehab, Michael Lohan wrote her a supportive (and public) letter from prison. "It was such a welcome surprise,” a friend told Life & Style. “Linds was certainly touched and a little choked up.” LL is "proceeding with caution" but is "thrilled" to be in touch with her father again. We understand why she would be a little wary, but it's great to hear that rehab is working out so well and that she may be able to mend things with her father after all.

Michael Lohan's Letter to Lindsay, and Everyone Else

Michael Lohan is keeping it classy and functional as usual by communicating with his daughter Lindsay through the mass media. Here's to airing personal messages totally unnecessarily. Obviously, his avenues to communicate with Lindsay are slightly blocked, but we can't imagine that he has to make them this public. Father Lohan's latest missive from the clink is in support of Lindsay's rehabilitation efforts and contains his advice on how to better her life in the long run. In the past he has directed his thoughts to the NY Daily News, but this time his medium of choice is InTouch. Perhaps he realizes it's the more target audience. Here's more:

Dear Lindsay,

I'm so proud of you in that you are taking back control of your life and putting it back on track like God wants. Now it's time to "clean house," in every sense of the word, and start anew.

As I've always told you Linds, you are blessed and God wants you to use your blessing to set an example and bless others through it as well. - You have such a kind and loving heart, which is more valuable than the world has to offer. You know that, God knows that and so do I - I've seen it in so many tears we've shed on each others' shoulders, through the love, pain and while helping others. Remember the boy in the wheelchair while we attended ABC Primetime at Disneyland, or how about the little girl with cancer at Leigh Valley Hospital? We sow in tears but can reap in joy Lindsay. But it's all up to us. The treasure is in your heart and that's where it belongs.
