Javier Bardem Brings Barcelona to San Sebastian

After making a grand entrance into the San Sebastian Film Festival, Javier Bardem got to work promoting Vicky Cristina Barcelona at a photo call yesterday after attending opening ceremonies. This morning he got all dressed up to accept the National Cinematography Award with his mom by his side. After his amazing year racking up prizes for No Country For Old Men, Javier is well-versed in collecting praise and trophies, but he still does it with that humble smirk we love so much.

It's Prom Night for Sharon and Fergie!!

This is me biting my tongue about Sharon Stone. Okay, she looks ridiculous and like she's going to a prom -- but she is, you know, going to a prom. Sharon and friends were out for the "Class of Hope Prom 2007" benefiting children in need. I love me some Fergie, but girlfriend looks like she could wash her hair. Otherwise, uh, I guess I'll go with brava for all the ladies? Also, I vote Fergs for Prom Queen.

If you were an attention starved aging actress like Sharon Stone, where would you choose to hold your Birthday celebration in the hopes that the paps would take notice? Why, The Ivy of course! Never let it be said that girlfriend doesn't love attention! Shar turned 49 this weekend -- doesn't she just look fabulous (yes, I'm just saying that because she mostly terrifies me). Her friends Demi Moore and Melanie Griffith braved the paparazzi mob to celebrate with the birthday girl. Gotta believe that lunch got a little wild!

Chicago Celebrates 10 Years

Chicago celebrated their 10 year anniversary last night with a very special performance that brought out all the stars who have taken part in the musical. Brooke Shields, Melanie Griffith and Ashlee Simpson were all there for the special night, but what everyone was talking about was Melanie's Roxie performance. Here's more:

...the evening's most endearing moment occurred as Melanie Griffith started to sing and dance the song "Roxie." A lighting malfunction caused a persistent loud flapping sound as director Walter Bobbie raced to the foot of the stage. He asked Griffith to begin the number again after the problem was fixed. "I guess this is take two," a game Griffith giggled as theatergoers roared their approval.

There were multiple Billy Flynns on stage, too. The opportunistic lawyer was portrayed not only by the original, James Naughton, but by Gregory Harrison, Huey Lewis, John O'Hurley, Kevin Richardson and Christopher McDonald, among others.

"This is a cast made in theatrical heaven," said producer Barry Weissler after the scores of performers took their tumultuous curtain calls. He was joined on stage by Fran Weissler, his wife and co-producer, who summed up the evening by saying, "Except for giving birth, this is the most exciting night of my life."

Melanie Lights Up Daughter Dakota
