Pete and Ashlee Might Take Their Mini Me on Tour

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson took their hipster accessories to the stage at Ren-mar Studios in Hollywood for FNMTV on Friday, where they introduced Miley Cyrus — who offered herself up as a babysitter and even found the time to make a home video with Pete. The couple then headed to Lollapalooza with the likes of LL and Samantha, and partied it up at Pete's Angels & Kings in Chicago on Saturday night. Ash and Pete clearly do a lot of traveling, so it's no surprise that Pete is already talking about making their baby a little jetsetter by bringing him/her on tour.

It's based on a Dutch series, and is supposedly "a real-life Bourne Identity." Mark Prefers His Girls From Boston, Willing to Kick A**

Mark hit up TRL this week to promote his new film Shooter. Mark certainly is easy on the eyes, but you may be out of luck with him if you don't hail from his home city. Well, that and his long term girlfriend and mother to his children. When asked at a press conference about what kind of woman he likes he said:

“Well, certainly girls from Boston, but they’re tough. Girls from Boston will kick your ass. You gotta be on your toes. But there’s a loyalty there that is hard to find.”

We understand that he has to give his hometown ladies props, but remember that his special girl, Rhea Durham, is from Florida, so he's obviously not that geographically strict. No matter though, because you don't have to be from anywhere specific to enjoy looking at him!

Spankin New Firing Week: TRL Still in, Minnillo Out

Rumors of TRL's demise may have been greatly exaggerated, but that doesn't mean our lovable cast of VJs are all in the clear -- I'm looking at you, sweet cheeks Minnillo. Yes, Nick Lachey's arm candy/potty mouth may be getting the ax. Rumblings of her diva-like behavior have been around for a while, and if you watch the show (you know, not that I do...or anything), you might notice that she's been around less and less these days. Perhaps this the best thing for Vanessa, as she'll be able to focus all her energy on being the best girlfriend (fingers crossed, wife) EVER! Yay! At least it's nice to know that Damien and Suzy still have their jobs, for now.

Looks like MTV had no problem finding couples who wanted to share their story with the world. Engaged and Underaged airs tomorrow at 9:30 where you can follow young couples from the last weeks of their engagement to their big day and of course all the drama in between.

TRL Cancelled? But What Will Become of the Sidewalk Throngs?

Those of you who were tweens in the late 90s may be sad to hear that MTV's TRL (or Total Request Live, if you remember the days before acronyms were the only way kids knew how to speak) is quite possibly headed for the chopping block. Perhaps it's because the video countdown show (that probably averages showing two full videos a week) is, at this point, little more than a few bright colors and cheesy games between endless commercial breaks (uh, not that we watch it every chance we get or anything).

We're pretty sure that cute Damien Fahey will find himself a new gig (or just focus on his band?) and Vanessa Minnillo's got her Lachey meal ticket, but what will become of LaLa?

Really though, it's all been downhill since Carson Daly left (which is most certainly a sentence that we never thought we'd say anything about ever).

J Lo Aims for a Simple Life

Jennifer looked fabulous as usual in her winter yellow last night at the TCA conference in Pasadena. She was at the event to promote her new dance show on MTV, but also spoke about living her life in a more simple way these days after marrying Marc. Here's more:

"It was a choice," Lopez, 36, said at the annual TV critics conference in Pasadena, Calif. on Thursday. "My life for me had become uncomfortable in the way that it was affecting my personal life and the people in it. So I decided I needed to take a look at that.

"I realized there was a way to pull back from that. You don't go out as much. You choose different places to go."

One place she doesn't go much these days is the dance floor. When asked if she cuts a rug with husband Marc Anthony, she said, "No we don't. Were homebodies. We love music – obviously it's a big part of our lives – but we're not big club people. Not any more. I've had my days."

Ben Stiller premiered Night at the Museum this weekend at the Museum of Natural history in NYC. He also stopped by TRL to promote his family friendly flick. Ben chats it up about retiring his Tom Cruise impression, not being bipolar and his love for playing the drums. Here's more:

Q: Much as we love your wicked Tom Cruise impressions, we've gotta ask: Can you give the poor guy a break and lay off those for a little while?

A: I officially retired my Tom Cruise impression after Tom and I did this MTV thing for "Mission: Impossible II." I love Tom and Katie and we're friendly. I just do it for him in private now. We laugh at each other.

Q: I can understand if this is too personal a matter and you don't want to discuss it, but those reports on the Internet about your bipolar condition...

A: That's not true, and I'm happy to disprove that. It was said in jest in a GQ article, but it's haunted me forever. But for me, it's not like I can go around saying, "Hey, I'm not bipolar!" That'll be a great headline: 'I'm Not Bipolar.'

Q: Anything we may not know about Ben Stiller that you think we should? That's, y'know, true hopefully.

A: I like to play the drums a little bit, for fun. By myself, with headphones on. Like, I've got drums that no one else can hear except me. I don't want to make anybody suffer through that.

Nelly Does Daytime

Nelly just scored the Pop Single of the Year at the Billboard Awards and now she's getting ready to impress us with her acting skills. She just taped an appearance on the soap opera One Life to Live. Nelly is hoping this won't be the last time you see her acting - she'd like to do more of it. Here's more:

In the episode set to air on February 23, Nelly performs her two hit singles "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right" and acts opposite the show's resident heartthrobs, Forbes March and Kamar De Los Reyes. "I've always watched soaps growing up, so this has been a great adventure," the 28-year-old said in an exclusive interview with In Touch from the ABC set on December 12. "It was so much fun and everyone was welcoming."

Acting is something the Canadian-born singer and single mother would like to do more of. "I've been taking acting classes," she says. "This was my third speaking part, so I'm a lot more confident now. Film is definitely a possibility." But first thing's first: Nelly is currently in the studio recording her first Spanish-language album, which will be released next year.

Jay-Z Gets a Little, Gives A lot

Jay-Z has lots to celebrate. His successful Rocawear clothing label, beautiful girlfriend Beyonce, and last week he had his best sales ever for Kingdom Come. He topped the charts, tying the Rolling Stones for the third most number one hits. Now that he has conquered the charts again, he is moving on to bigger and better things like doing good deeds. The rapper is concerned about the state of drinking water in third world countries. So much so that he invited MTV to follow him around on his recent trip to South Africa to gain awareness for the cause. Here are highlights:

"I was looking for a cause to attach myself to," he said. "I knew I was going to some places where there was problems and as soon as I came across the problems of water, and seen the numbers that were attached to it, I was like — this is it....Three people die every three minutes … from easily preventable diseases."

In the town of Luanda, Angola, he followed 14-year-old Bela, who must fetch and carry 40 pounds of water, twice a day. When he offered to help share the burden and carry the water on a one-half-mile trek, he was taken aback by the sheer strength that was required.

"It's not only 40 pounds … it's water so it moves," he said. "And the roads, they aren't paved. It's not like walking on perfectly paved Fifth Avenue. You're walking on rocks and it's a dirt road and the water is moving. I couldn't walk to the end of the block holding it. I had to switch hands about three times."

"It made me realize that as tough as we had it — and there are tough neighborhoods in the places that I grew up — but that's not the bottom," he said. "You know they say 'I'm from the bottom.' It's not really the bottom, because you have water, and roads [that] are paved, and you can go to school … You don't have to play out in open sewage. Now that's the 'hood."

Justin Gets Ready to Play Host

Justin will be hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards today in Copenhagen. He held a press conference the other day to reveal he is calm and cool about the event. Apparently he isn't feeling any pressure. He's also happy to offer men all over the world tips on getting their Sexy Back. Here's more:

"The pressure's not on me, it's on the performers," he told reporters at a news conference. "I'll try to make MTV proud. "I'm looking forward to seeing Muse, I really like (their latest album) 'Black Holes and Revelations'," Timberlake said.

In September, 25-year-old Timberlake released his second solo album, "FutureSex/LoveSounds," which has topped the charts and features the single "SexyBack."

When asked how a middle-aged man might "get his sexy back" and keep his wife interested in him, Timberlake dished out some helpful advice.

"First of all, do not look desperate," he said. "Surprise your wife with a trip to somewhere with better weather than Copenhagen." The city had its first snowfall of the year on Wednesday.

Get Married on MTV

MTV is casting for a new series that features a young couple in the process of getting married. If you are between the ages of 18 and 21 and plan to get married before January 15, 2007 and want to share your love story with the world, then you should apply. Here's more:

Each couple chosen will be the center of a half-hour show that takes us through their planning, their actual wedding and beyond. In addition to sharing how they met, how he proposed and what her dress will look like, we also want to explore the issue of age and marriage...does it matter or not?

What do their family and friends think? How will their life change once they are married? They must be willing to let cameras into their life in order for us to capture their entire wedding experience!

MTV sure is looking for a young audience but we bet we would totally get sucked into this show. Who doesn't want to watch a love story and see someone's wedding in the works? MTV just lined up JT to host the MTV Europe Music Awards in Denmark on November 2nd. The nominees are really no surprise, and pretty much the same as the VMAs with the top nominations going to Shakira, Christina and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Hopefully we'll get to see clips here in the U.S. We'd love to see how Justin handles hosting duties.

The 2006 VMA Awards

Besides some good performances like JT and B, the rest of the evening was pretty tame. No major shocking events unless you consider Axl Rose blessing us with his presence as newsworthy (we don't). Jack Black was great, and the Tenacious D bits were a bonus. We got a kick out of Pink winning for her Stupid Girl video and mocking her tabloid girls right in front of one of them. Lil' Kim making fun of herself was a good laugh. She sure seems excited to be back on the stage and good for her for actually wearing clothes. We hate those half naked outfits she likes to wear at events. As for the Pussycat Dolls, did they really win? They are the cheapest imitation of the Spice Girls. They do not deserve to be taking home any moon mans. Bad MTV, shame on you.

Oh, and dare we say that Fergie actually looked cute dancing it up with Little Miss Sunshine. I know, we never thought we would write a sentence with "Fergie" and "cute" in it - ever.

VMA Performances

The performances were one of the best parts of the VMAs last night. It was no Eminem event but still entertaining. We're psyched that pop is back! We could not have thought of a better way to kick off tonight's event than with JT showing off his sexy dance moves! Christina was looking lovely in red, but this time we mean her gorgeous dress. She performed her new song Hurt, which just hearing her sing gives you the chills. Beyonce was a bit of a let down. We were hoping Jay-Z would perform on stage with the B'Day girl. She danced her ass off to Ring the Bell and the dance sequence was old school like Janet's Rhythm Nation. We liked that part, especially in those coats. And finally, Shakira showed off her killer abs for Hips Don't Lie.

Fergie did some crazy performance on the red carpet for her latest single London Bridge wearing a very tight tiny pair of Burberry shorts. I can only imagine how Burberry felt about that one. To see more pics of the amazing performances, just

The Men Arrive at the VMAs

The men on the red carpet went from three piece suits to jeans and undershirts. JT, Diddy and John Legend had it going on. They came dressed to impress! As for Nick, we were a little let down. He can usually pull off casual cool, and we love that baby face, but he made no effort last night. His undershirt could have been a little nicer. I bet he went to bed wearing it when he got back to Vanessa's later. As for the Rock, he pulled off that look Nick was aiming for, even with a broken foot.
