Three out of the fabulous foursome met at the New York Public Library last night to launch Sex and the City on DVD. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall posed and laughed together missing their Charlotte, Kristin Davis. The extended version of the movie hits video stores on Tuesday and the ladies didn't miss the opportunity to throw a party. The soiree was held at the botched marriage location for Carrie in the movie, so it's only appropriate that SJP posed with a dramatic wedding dress. While most of you are excited about the possibility of getting to know younger Carrie, until then it's time to snuggle in and watch their big screen debut again.

It was a 90th birthday party to remember for Nelson Mandela, who went big for his star-studded celebration in London's Hyde Park yesterday. Will Smith managed to tear himself away from his non-stop promotional tour of Hancock to catch up with his buddies Robert de Niro, Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington, and of course to spend some time with Jada. There was no sign of Amy Winehouse, but Naomi Campbell was happy to provide the drama, showing up even though Nelson personally requested she be removed from the guest list after her recent legal issues.

The gorgeous women of Sex and the City followed their pink carpet premiere with a star-studded after-party at NYC's MoMa last night. The fab foursome continued to pose together (do you think SJP looked better than LL in that Nina Ricci dress?) as Mario Cantone had fun with some sailors and Jennifer Hudson showed off her second dress of the evening. Even though the night was mostly about the ladies, SJP was accompanied by her proud husband Matthew Broderick, while Candace Bushnell and Anna Wintour brought their men, Charles Askegaard and Shelby Bryan. In true SATC style, the fun times rolled into an after-after-party at The Carlyle hotel. The ladies may have grown up, but they obviously still know how to have a great time.

Sex and the City Premiere Glitters in Gold in NYC

Things may have kicked off in the UK, but the SATC girls finally came home to premiere the film at Radio City Music Hall last night. Love 'em or not, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall glittered in their metallic dresses on a pink carpet that was covered with more than 10,000 Swarovski crystals. SJP looked amazing in a very familiar dress (hello, LL in Bazaar superhero photo shoot). Chris Noth and more costars came out, as well as some of NYCs most stylish trendsetters like Ashley Olsen and Anna Wintour (looking perfect as usual). New theme song artist Fergie got girlie, while Jason Lewis acted goofy sticking his tongue out for the cameras. Fans are so excited for the film that they paid big bucks to attempt to attend the premiere last night. Seriously, big bucks. Clearly this weekend belongs to the girls in the city, so move over Indy!

Sex and the City Hits Oprah's Couch and Rewards Some Fans!

The cast of the Sex and the City movie stopped by Oprah to chat about fashion, their lives, and of course that amazingly anticipated film on the episode that aired today. Oprah gushed about the movie too, urging women everywhere to make a girls' night out to see it — as if anyone needs any convincing about that. In the true spirit of Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica couldn't resist comparing her enthusiasm to shoes, saying, "Excited is like a flip-flop to a high heel…it doesn't even describe [it]!"

While we're wishing May would move faster so we can finally check out the film, Oprah picked a group of die hard SATC fans for the film's very first screening. The catch was that the audience was only treated to 3/4 of the movie, and will have to wait until May 30th to see the ending, just like the rest of us who aren't lucky enough to attend the premiere. Plus, SJP herself swore them all to secrecy about it saying, "You can brag, but you can't blog." Those are some lucky ladies!

The girls are back in town, or shall I say the city, and they're looking fab-u-lous! We're obviously so excited for the Sex and the City movie this May but the cast is already supporting one another and making appearances together. Last night in NYC Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis came out to support Cynthia Nixon as she was recognized by the Point Foundation. The organization raises money for scholarships to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students. Nixon was honored "to be considered a role model." She also said this about their reunion, "It was such a period in all our lives... And we thought it was all over, and to go back to it was amazing." Amazing indeed — time to start preparing for your SATC party now!

The ladies of Sex and the City got together for a dinner at Nobu in LA last night. The foursome don't look quite as chic as their on-screen counterparts (we can't imagine Charlotte wearing snow boots), but we love that they're still hanging out together even when off camera. Yesterday we heard that there is already talk of movie sequels, but perhaps the producers should wait to see how their first film fares at the box office.

Apparently, they went over the movie's budget and had to shoot some scenes in California instead of in Mexico, which was the original plan. The cast and crew of the movie might also want to try a little harder to keep their plot lines under wraps the next time around. SJP and the rest of the cast of the Sex and the City movie were back to work in their very formal wear in NYC yesterday. We've seen so many pictures on the set of the movie already, but we're still looking forward to all the surprises the movie has in store for us — like all the steamy scenes that couldn't be shot outdoors. We also can't help but wonder if Carrie and Big took their relationship to the next level and moved in together. We'd hate to see her lose that fabulous apartment, but we can always just get the look of her crib to keep the Carrie vibe going strong until the movie hits theaters and we can find out for sure.

All Eyes on SatC (Unless You Want Your $10 Worth)

The SatC girls were back on set in NYC this week showing off their unique styles. Samantha flirted while Miranda played mommy to her grown up son Brady. Carrie was out and about in some fake snow, a fur coat, and a sequined beanie — possibly a great SatC Halloween costume? Lucky for us, these pics don't contain any spoilers, but the attention the film is attracting is starting to get difficult for some of the cast. Kristin Davis spoke a bit about it earlier this week. Here's more:

"Davis, who plays the always-sweet Charlotte, told reporters she 'wasn't prepared for the intensity' of shooting the Sex and the City movie. When asked about pictures that imply she and husband Harry (played by Evan Handler) adopt a baby in the film, she scolded, 'You don't want to pay your ten dollars and already know what happens.'"

While no one actually wants the movie to be spoiled, it's just so exciting to have the girls back that it's hard to look away — especially when they are decked out in wacky and wonderful styles from Patricia Field!

Conde Nast brought out a random array of stars at the celebration of 20 years of Truth in Travel in NYC yesterday. Always one to stand out in the crowd, Alan Cumming sported a half tuxedo half kilt ensemble while Debra Messing looked good in very basic black. Kim Cattrall took a break from being sassy Samantha in her tame purple dress and posed with fellow SatC alum Mario Cantone. We wonder if they spent the night fielding questions about the plot of their new movie that has been keeping us guessing for the past few weeks.

It was a straight HBO paaaar-taaay on the set of the Sex and the City Movie yesterday, sharing hiiiiiilarious emails/pictures on their BlackBerries and advertising fellow past HBO shows on their shirts. Holla! I've pretty much resigned myself to this movie having no surprises (so hopefully the dialogue is awesome), but even more spoiler-y images have surfaced and are after the jump if you want to see them. I contend that the spoiler isn't so bad, just saying. This movie's going up against a bit of a challenge with the world already seeing both the plot secrets and fabulous outfits — hey, here's to all the scenes filmed indoors, right? Plus, it's not like it will be hurting for hype.

Sex and the City Still Taking Over Manhattan

SJP went briefly went brunette but switched back to blonde while still shooting scenes for SatC this week. The girls worked hard one special day to shoot scenes at Christie's auction house. The location was only available for one day so the cast had to work extra hard to make sure they got what they needed. It turned into a 19 hour work day but that didn't seem to upset any of the extras who revealed, "Sarah Jessica Parker worked so hard and was just wonderful to everyone involved." It's good to know everyone is dedicated to making the movie a success, even if it means spending a lot of time in painful stilettos.

Shooting has just begun and we've already seen a ton of pics from the set of SatC, but it's great to see all of the ladies back together as one. Sarah Jessica Parker showed off her beautiful long curls and her sexy yet insane flower dress (Love it/Hate it - tell Fab) while shooting without her BFFs. It's nice to see Mr. Big back on the set however, we're more excited to see the ladies wardrobes, witty banter and of course, the most important part, their friendship now on the big screen.
