Jessica Simpson stepped up to the mic along with some of country music's biggest names to help kick off the 2008 CMA Music Festival in Nashville last night. Of course, Jess is no stranger to the stage, but there have to be some big-time nerves showcasing her new material to an audience who already has lots of preconceived notions about her. Considering the warm reception you all gave "Come on Over," hopefully it all went over great.

Nashville rolled out the purple carpet for the finest in country music last night. Nicole and her barely showing baby bump supported her husband Keith Urban who was the opening act. Faith Hill looked a little lost in her all black ensemble but that hubby Tim McGraw's hat was a helpful distraction.

It was jeans for some (Kid Rock, of course) and gowns for others at last night's 41st Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Nicole Kidman definitely brought the most bang to the red carpet in her bold dress — sure it looks a little like one of those cheesy college dorm felt-y posters, but it's not like she can't pull it off. Carrie Underwood looked typically great while fellow former Idol-er Kellie Picker looked surprisingly demure for her.
