Will Smith celebrated his 40th birthday yesterday watching his son Trey play football in LA with his family and former costar on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Alfonso Ribeiro. Will was in his element playing with his kids and giving tips to Trey while his loved ones surprised him with a special gift. Another reason for his big grin is that he just signed on for a prequel to I am Legend about the final days in NYC when the virus started to spread, though rumors of him playing Captain America are false. Sounds like Will's got all the makings of a birthday to remember, even though you all were unsure about how you felt about a sequel to his box office hit.

Will and Jada Show Off Their Beach and Bikini Bodies!

Will Smith, Jada, and their kids have been enjoying a little July vacation, Hawaii-style, lounging on the beach with family and friends. Jada stripped off her wetsuit after a day in the water to show off a bright yellow string bikini, while Will cracked everyone up on the beach. Just like daddy post-Hancock, Willow deserved some rest and relaxation after all her hard work promoting Kitt Kittredge. Whether they hit the surf or just show off their stellar beach bodies, this is one hard-working family that definitely deserves a little Summer break.

Two celebrations were clearly not enough, so Victoria Beckham rounded up all her celebrity friends for a party at Via Veneto in Santa Monica last night. We already got a look at the hot couple on their way in — but check out the rest of the guest list. First of all, there have rumors about a falling out between the Beckhams and the Cruises, but Tom and Katie were all smiles and sunglasses on their way in last night. Posh and David's new BFFs, the Beckinsale-Wisemans, of course made an appearance along with Eva Longoria, Will and Jada, Usher and Tamika, Diddy and Kim, Gwen and Gavin . . . the list goes on. Quite the group (out on a school night! Ha) to celebrate the British birthday girl — hope they all had a blast!

The Pinkett-Smiths kept it flirty in the car, while the Cruises looked a little too tired for kissy face. Maybe they're still recovering from Madonna's post-Oscars blowout bash. It's always fun to see celebrity BFFs hanging out together, but hopefully next time they'll invite their little ones too. BTW, where has Suri has been hiding out these days? We miss that girl.

Ain't No Party Like A Welcome Beckhams Party

After Saturday's big game, hot LAers came out for the Beckham's Welcome to LA party last night and it certainly did not disappoint. Tom, Katie, Will and Jada threw the party for their new neighbors, bringing out a random smattering of their celebrity friends. Jim & Jenny, Demi & Ashton, Bruce & a hot brunette, Rihanna, Lil Kim. The list goes on. Apparently LL was even in the house, tagging along with Samantha Ronson who worked as DJ for a while. Samantha was typically bratty, embarrassing Posh by playing Wannabe and at one point yelling "Lets hear it for Scientology!" It wasn't all Ronson's stylings though, the party apparently included a performance by Stevie Wonder and a short impromptu from Will Smith himself. How fun is that? As for the couple of the evening, it looks like Victoria and David were even able to get a little frisky during their red carpet moment. So hot.

The active parents may explain why Will was one of your favorite celebrity fathers. Will Honored as a Modern Master

Will Smith went from warming up a NYC crowd of extras to being honored at the 22nd Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. BFF Tom Cruise presented Will with the Modern Master Award. Will is up for an Oscar for his performance in The Pursuit of Happyness and was asked about the film's success and what it takes to be a good father. Here's more:

"People are enjoying the film and it's reached a level of critical acclaim; it can't get any better than this," he said. "This is such a glorious time, it feels almost like emotional, spiritual greed."

Asked what it takes to be a good father, Smith said patience, compassion and commitment. He's the father of three in real life, including 7-year-old Jaden, who co-stars in the movie.

"You've got to really want to be a good father," he told reporters on the red carpet outside the Arlington Theatre on Saturday night.

Will Will & Jada Renew Their Vows?

The Smiths went to London for the premiere of The Pursuit of Happyness. We bet they will be back in the states for the Golden Globes in less than a week. You can tell they are all so supportive of each other. In fact, Will and Jada seem to be going strong after almost 10 years of marriage that they might do it again. Apparently not only did Tom and Katie's wedding inspire J Lo and Marc to walk down the aisle one more time, but Will and Jada too. Here's more:

Word is the actor was so overcome by his friends' fairy-tale ceremony near Rome in November that he's planning one for himself and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Tom and Katie's wedding "made me realize we didn't have a big wedding," Will told Jay Leno on December 20. "It was the most amazing experience." So he'll throw a big bash of his own. "We're going to go back and do it again," says Will, who is planning the ceremony in honor of his 10th anniversary, December 31, 2007. "We'll renew the vows and all that."

We were thrilled to hear that Will Smith was nominated for a Golden Globe last week for his fabulous performance in The Pursuit of Happyness. Will was so grateful for the nomination and now he has yet another thing to make him happy. His movie came in #1 at the box office this weekend taking in $27 million! The Pursuit of Happyness has been a family bonding experience for the Smith family. Will stars alongside his adorable son Jaden and proud mother Jada has joined them on their promotional tour. We're excited to see the movie this weekend, but it turns out Will really doesn't care if the film does well at the box office. He's just proud that he grew as an actor on the film and got to spend so much time with Jaden. Here's more:

“What it taught me — it’s interesting on camera and off with Jaden — is that the bottom line is time,” the 38-year-old Philadelphia native said. “The amount of time you spend with your child. If it’s in the bathroom or like Chris Gardner said on ‘Oprah,’ in a million-dollar home, it’s the time. And Jaden and I got to spend every single day, 10 to 12 hours a day together working on this film. It became clear that whatever you have to offer financially doesn’t matter. Whatever situation you’re in, it doesn’t matter. You have to be there. You have to be with your child. To be able to spend that many hours a day together, our bond took off in a way that I never imagined.”

“I was struggling with a scene and [director] Gabriele Muccino would come and give me notes,” Smith said. “Every time Gabriele would give me notes and wouldn’t give any to Jaden; Jaden took that as him winning [laughs]! He would look at me like I got a note and he didn’t.

Nicole's Gift to Tom and Katie

Another weekend - another game for Tom and Katie to watch. The couple cheered on Tom's son at his football game along with some help from their good friend Jada Pinkett-Smith. Invitations are supposedly out for Tom and Katie's upcoming nuptials in Italy and now the gifts are pouring in. Apparently Nicole Kidman even sent a gift. Word is she hand wrote a note for the $2,800 Baccarat Crystal vase. Who knows if it's true, but we have a feeling she won't be attending the wedding, especially since she needs to stand by her man in need.

Another "Suri Sighting"

100 days and counting and we have still not seen a picture of Suri Cruise. A few weeks ago it was reported that even good friends of the Cruise family had not met baby Suri. Now Jada Pinkett-Smith is saying Suri is gorgeous. People reports

"She's one of the sweetest babies I've ever met in my life," Pinkett Smith says. "She's an absolute beauty and she's Daddy's little girl."

"She's beautiful and they're very happy and they need to be left alone," says Pinkett Smith, who described Suri while talking to PEOPLE about her participation in the anti-violence event, Party 4 Peace, run by pal Charles "Charlie Mack" Alston. "She's the cutest little baby. She's got a head full of black, beautiful hair."

Jada also mentioned that Katie is loving being a mom. Apparently Katie is also planning on getting back to work soon. Maybe before she relaunches her career we will get to see Suri.
