Christina's Max Has Only Made Her That Much Stronger

Six months after becoming a mom to Max, Christina Aguilera is ready to get back to work on new projects. Last week she talked to Larry King about getting political, but she's also got an album and another perfume in the works. In the August issue of Glamour magazine, Christina dishes on life since Max came along and what we can expect from her now. Here are highlights:

On her new album: "I just started recording it, but I can tell you that this record is all about fun. I'll be referencing Pop Art, Andy Warhol's art. So it will [sound] fun and fast-paced, and visually, it will be full of color, which is how it's going to tie in with my new fragrance, Inspire [in stores next month]."
On whether or not being a mom influences her music: "Absolutely--my little boy breathes new life into me. That's one of the reasons I decided to go in a playful direction with this album. I've spoken openly about the domestic violence I experienced growing up."
On her relationship with Jordan as new parents: "It's brought us closer--we're bonded together for life. Relationships and great marriages are a whole learning and growing process. We're just great teammates."

Salma Gets Up Close and Personal with Glamour

Salma Hayek is never afraid to speak her mind and April's Glamour is no exception. The fiercely independent actress and producer reveals some interesting info about her personal life like how she momentarily wished for a son and is perfectly content to live in a different continent than her fiancé. Here's more:

On wanting a boy: "Well, I have to confess something — I wanted a boy. . . At the beginning I did. Probably because I was afraid. I think women suffer a bit more than boys, and there is always conflict between mothers and daughters. But now that she’s here, I’m so happy she’s a girl. And I can’t imagine there ever being conflict between us, because I’m in a state of innocence where I love everything she does. If she does a poop and I have to change the diaper, I love that moment!"
On living in LA while Francois-Henri lives in Paris: "To most women it’s crazy. But every relationship is unique, and in order to make it work you have to be willing to listen — not only to your partner, but to the relationship itself. You have to be brave enough to say, 'This is who we are: We might not look like the perfect couple, or like our parents did, but this is our love story.'"

Naomi Gets Glamourous to Talk Boys and Babies

Naomi Watts got all done up for this month's issue of Glamour. On top of modeling a chic Chanel number, she was surprisingly open about her romance with Liev and the trials of being a new mom at the age of 39. We know she's excited to give little Alexander a sibling, but my favorite part may be hearing how when she met her man she was the one doing the picking-up. Here's more:

How she met Liev: Friends had been trying to hook us up for years, but the timing was never right. Then I ran into him at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute gala [in 2005], and we spent the whole night talking and flirting. At some point I thought, This night’s going to end and I might never see him again. So I said, in a cheeky way, “Don’t you want my digits?” I can’t tell you why; in the past, I would never have done that. If I was even remotely interested in a guy, I would ask for his number first. That way, I could find out more about him on my terms. Literally, within seconds after [Liev] left, he texted me his number. I think he liked that I was a bit aggressive.
On working around her family: So far, we’ve been quite lucky: We’re coming up on three years together and we’ve only spent three weeks apart at the most. All throughout the pregnancy, Liev was here doing a play, and once the baby was born, we all went to Lithuania while he filmed Defiance.

Lindsay Lohan Gets Real for Glamour

Lindsay Lohan doesn't have many movie deals in her near future, but she can still hold her own as a cover girl. She went sexy in a little red dress for the March issue of Glamour UK, and in the article she gives us the same story we've heard before about being different after rehab, but she still admits that she's a sucker for those clubs. Here are highlights:

On her old crowd: "There are friends that have been hard to hang out with because they've gone done a different path. But it's hard because I'm the kind of person who wants to trust everyone."
On filling up her free time: "I'm fine being alone during the day, but I hate being alone at night. I like having friends around me, but now I'd much rather be at home. That's not to say I'll never go to a club again, because I'd be lying."
On the biggest misconception about her: "That I don't have my head in the right place. That, and probably that I'm not a good person ... because actually I am."

Lindsay has seemed to calm down since her time in rehab but admitting that she still wants to hit the clubs and the latest rumors are not the most reassuring factors in the world. Hopefully the starlet can stick to being a good person and resist falling back in with the wrong crowds.

Reese Is Glamorous in the United Kingdom

Reese graces the February cover of British Glamour looking a lot more like her cute sunshiney self than she did for Marie Claire a few weeks ago. Her adorable smirk is more than enough to sell magazines, which is a good thing because in the article she talks about how she'll never take her clothes off for a photoshoot. Reese also talks about how she keeps a level-head in Hollywood, and how her Oscar has opened doors for her. Here are highlights:

On using nudity to promote films: "If [actresses] take their clothes off, they objectify themselves. I am flabbergasted by how many legitimate actresses do it."

Kate and Matthew Know Each Other's Asses Well

Although Fool's Gold looks maybe horrible, I can't deny that I love seeing Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey together. How cute are they? Plus, we'll always have How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. In the February issue of Glamour these two get cute and fun talking about their mutual enjoyment of each other and that ever present attraction. Here are highlights:

MM: I think it's fun [for audiences] to see us [on the big screen]. They want us to hook up, but they don't want us to hook up...

KH: We've never had any kind of relationship romantically and there's an element you can feel when we're working together.

MM: We're always courting. It's a constant flirting courtship, which keeps it really alive. We never dated. But we can still be attracted.

KH: I've seen you brush your teeth in the morning. I know what your body odor smells like. I can smell you from five blocks away. I know all your different style kisses. And I know all your different style hugs. If I were walking down a street and some guy came up and slapped my ass, if it were you, I would know it was you.

MM: Well you know what? If I were blindfolded and told to walk over and slap 10 asses, I would know which one was your ass.

Ha, well, clearly they've spent some time shooting those love scenes. And how hilarious is it that Kate mentioned Matty's body odor specifically? Methinks it must be pretty, um, unique.

Jennifer Garner Is A Stunning Woman of the Year

Jennifer Garner looks every bit the charismatic Broadway baby gracing the cover of Glamour's annual Women of the Year November issue. Just gorgeous. I'm sure she's getting used to seeing her name in lights, but this is a marquee she can save for a long time. The issue doesn't hit stands until the 14th, but this cover is flashy enough to have me excited already to see the spread of fabulous and accomplished ladies.

Jennifer and the 12 other nominees, who include Toni Morrison and the first ever girl of the year, Abigail Breslin, will be honored on November 5th at the Lincoln Center in NYC. Sounds like they scheduled it to make sure that Garner could come, since Monday is her night off from her run on Broadway. She and Ben don't do the red carpet together often, but hopefully he'll be there to help acknowledge his phenomenal wife.

Sarah Jessica Parker was caught out in her super casual wear while running errands in the West Village this weekend. Looks like she's practicing what she preaches. In the June issue of Glamour she talks about why she chose to go cheap chic with her new clothing line Bitten. Here's more:

"Madonna’s line for H&M is extremely directional, provocative and sexy. I don’t know J.Lo’s line as well, but I know that it’s much more trendy than Bitten. L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani is much more avant-garde, definitely high fashion. But I don’t want to do that for women, because that’s not really their lives.
On Bitten:
"Bitten is simple silhouettes that are affordable. You’re going to be able to buy $200 worth of clothes, leave that store with six bags and be able to pay your utilities and take your kids someplace special for their birthday. It’s a very different philosophy about shopping. It’s the first and only time I’ve wanted to design... It's a way of giving women without financial means access to good, simple, well-made clothes to feel proud of."
On being frugal:
"I often return things because the spending gives me anxiety. But I'm not without my indulgences. And I don't pretend I'm not enjoying the great fortune I've had."

A lot of the celebrity collections these days seem to be easy on the wallet. This allows us to buy more and give back (besides celebrity designers, celebs doing good is the other great trend these days). I can surely support both of these things.

Christina and her Red Lips

Christina performed on a German TV show recently with her trademark red lipstick. As we know, she can't seem to go anywhere without that red look. She explained her obsession in the January issue of Glamour magazine. When Christina was asked if she would feel exposed without her make-up she answered,

Yeah - there's a witch under this hair [she says laughing]. Would I feel exposed? Yes, in a certain way. The red lips are - I don't want to call them "armor," but they're the clothes of my character, and I'm in the business of entertainment....I don't see makeup as a defense. I see it as a creative outlet. I am a woman who has my extreme vulnerable side and my baggage - and at times I feel extremely weak. And who's to say a little mascara doesn't make you feel more confident when you pop it on and look in the mirror? It helps, especially in my position, where I have people waiting down the street to take pictures of me so they can evaluate and criticize every little flaw on my face. I suppose that's where the armor would come into the picture.

We have to admit we used to give Christina a hard time for always wearing those red lips. Maybe it's because we don't think she needs the extreme color to hide behind. Christina Fights Against Domestic Violence

Christina definitely seems to have her stuff together these days. It could have gone the other way considering she had a very rough childhood. She has spoken in the past of coming from an abusive home. She even wrote about the time her father threw her against a set of stairs in the song, I'm Okay. She went through her dirrty stage but now she's cleaned up and stronger than ever. She's even trying to help other victims of domestic violence. Here's highlights:

On her homelife:
"I was brought up in a household of chaos and I never felt stable at home. At a really young age, I decided I was never going to feel helpless, I was never going to feel weak around a man, and I was never going to rely on anyone. Independence was a big, big thing for me. I saw my voice as a way out - when my parents fought, I'd run up to my room, put on The Sound of Music, open the window and sing out. My voice was my escape."

On her work with victims of domestic violence:
"I work very closely with a shelter near Pittsburgh. One day I hope to open a shelter of my own. I think it's really important to share my own story with women who've been abused, because going through that experience has lead me to where I am today: It's given me the strength and motivation to be the best that I can be."

It's great that she's taken something so painful in her own life and used it as a motivation to help others. For the whole article just
