
Carrie Underwood slipped into uniform and stepped up to the plate alongside some of her fellow country stars for the 18th annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge on Wednesday. She played tough before the game,
saying, "I’ve got a lot of practice with a bat one way or another the last couple years." Unfortunately, Carrie's confidence wasn't enough to lead her team to victory, but she still looked cute as a button running the bases. Tonight we'll get to see her flex her more famous muscles — those vocal cords — singing at the 2008 CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

Another season of American Idol has come to an end, and David Cook was crowned as an Idol. Our favorite parts of the show were Seal, sassy Carrie Underwood, Ben Stiller/Jack Black/Robert Downey Jr. singing backup, and of course the special guest appearance by George Michael.

Last night Kenny Chesney was declared the Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas. Garth Brooks was also back in the limelight to receive the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award for his outstanding achievements. Performer Keith Urban didn't need a trophy to make him gush.
