Matthew Is Back on the Bongos in Brazil

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves didn't waste any time after arriving in Brazil last weekend. Little Levi showed his face as they checked into their ritzy Rio hotel, though he stayed home on Saturday night when his parents had a date night. Matthew and Camila finished their evening at a salsa school, and somebody even let Matthew near the bongos — though fortunately he kept his clothes on this time. While he got into the groove on the drums, Camila was dancing away with another guy. It must have all been in good fun as the fun lovin' couple were spotted at the airport on their way to Camila's hometown the next day.

Holidays are time for family, and Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are already determined to show their son what a global one he's got. Soon after returning from their Texas road trip, Matthew packed up the baby and headed to Brazil over the weekend. The family flew in to Rio de Janeiro, but were soon off to Camila's hometown so everyone could meet the newest member of the family. Levi's going to be one lucky boy bouncing from beach to beach with his parents as he grows up and learns his dad's motto of L-I-V-I-N.

After a family trip exploring in the Airstream, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves brought Levi home to Malibu to check up on the construction progress of their home. Camila's mother was in town for a visit and got to spend some quality time with her growing grandson. Levi has quite the set of expressions already at only five months old and is already showing signs of looking like both mom and dad. Other than landing David O. Russell to direct his new movie, not much news has happened in MM's life while he's been taking a mellow break to show Levi the world. From the looks of the little one's wide eyes, he's just as eager as his dad to take it all in.

Elsewhere in the Fashion Week fun, Mischa Barton and Rihanna smiled on the red carpet at the Fab Five Vanity Fair Party. The Wedding Planner co-stars reconnected this weekend in LA after completing a half-mile ocean swim, an 18-mile bike ride, and a 4-mile run in support of the Children's Hospital of LA. Jennifer and Matt finished the 2008 Nautica Malibu Triathlon in just under 2 hours and 24 minutes and just over 1 hour and 30 minutes respectively. Both had the support of their partners by their side and while J Lo snuck in a kiss from Marc between events, Matt celebrated after the event with baby Levi who was nuzzled in Camila's carrier. The celebs hung out in a VIP section to relax post race where Jennifer gushed about how great she felt and how exciting it was to raise $127,000 for the hospital. Jennifer was using the training as a way to get back in shape after having twins seven months ago. MC Cindy Crawford just rubbed in how pretty she was sitting on the sideline looking gorgeous as usual.

It looks like the workout junkie took a little break from training like Lance before yesterday's Malibu triathlon. Considering the limited release and, um, not so stellar reviews I'm guessing Surfer, Dude won't be No. 1 at this weekend's box office, but judging from the way Matthew looks at his little family of three, he's already a winner. His board shorts are reminding us that his movie Surfer, Dude hits theaters on Friday, even though he doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot of promotion for the film. Instead, he's been finding plenty of time for fun — besides hanging out with this family, MM partied it up in San Diego recently, talking up his movie and even getting behind the bar to make himself a drink. Luckily, it seems like he managed to get both of his flip-flops home safely this time.

Matthew McConaughey celebrated the premiere of Surfer, Dude at an afterparty benefiting the Austin Film Society in Texas last night. At the screening Woody Harrelson joked that making the movie was the most "non-working work" he's ever done, which sounds pretty accurate judging by the silly trailer and all the shots of them filming last Summer. Matthew described the movie as "homegrown" and about "how you surf life," revealing he made it with all of his friends he met while attending the University of Texas. Just one more way that Matthew shows love for his alma mater, which he's already passing down to Levi through football games and even doing some hilarious voiceover work for a Baby Longhorns DVD.

MM Spreads His Longhorn Love to Levi

Matthew McConaughey kept his promise to take baby Levi everywhere, showing him the ropes at his first football game at Texas Stadium on Saturday. Camila showed off her UT pride in her orange shirt, while even Levi got in the spirit snuggled up in his Longhorns hat — all of which was captured by daddy Matt snapping lots of photos. The weekend of fun didn't end there, and on Sunday MM moved on to running the Nike + Human Race in Austin before taking Camila and Levi to a Ben Harper show. Of adapting to his new party of three, MM called Camila the love of his life and said, "We have a little bit more prep-time put into going places and doing things, getting him ready and everything. But it's amazing."

The proud father and mother Camila Alves posed with their cute, tiny newborn on this week's issue of OK Magazine! as part of their deal. The couple, Matthew especially, opened right up about Camila's labor and what they want for their son. Here's more:

On dancing during Levi's delivery: "We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music. I have it all chronicled. Becoming a dad is something I've dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let's go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We'd been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, 'Let's handle this… let's stay in the rhythm. Don't let the contraction be more than you.'"
Camila on Levi: "Everybody thinks he looks like me because of the hair and skin tone. I think he looks more like Matthew every day."
MM on Levi: "I've pulled out some baby pictures of myself, and the resemblance is amazing. This kid has a lot to learn from us. I want him to come out being a little wiser, a little cooler and a little happier than we are."
