A handful of big names stepped out last night for Hamilton and Hollywood Life's Behind the Camera Awards in LA. Lucy Liu looked fabulous as usual on the red carpet while Ryan Phillippe mingled at the after party with his date Abbie Cornish. Evan Rachel Wood looked happy despite her weekend drama over her breakup with Marilyn Manson. Harrison Ford and Anne Hathaway both acted as presenters once the show got started, and overall it looked like a fun night for the stars.

Anne was joined by her Rachel Getting Married cast mates for their screening, while Thandie Newton checked out the scene alongside her husband Ol Parker. Gwyneth Paltrow went solo to support Two Lovers at a nearby theater and opened up about Madonna's divorce. She said, "You know, she's a dear friend, and I'm supporting her in all [the] ways that I can . . . I'm just here for her. I'm just here on the other end of the phone, really . . . I speak to her a lot." It's great to see that Gwyneth is being a good pal — even if Madonna didn't take her advice about staying together for the kids.

Between this, and being grilled by Letterman the topic seems uncomfortable for Anne. She said, "What's the right thing to do? Do you talk about it? It's the elephant in the room. I think it's better to let everyone know that I'm OK. I'm trying to move on and have a sense of humor about everything." She might say it's OK but the wounds are still painful so what do you think — should everyone stop asking Anne about Raffaello?

Dave told her to stop him when he crossed the line, but she held her own as he asked her everything from how long they knew each other to whether he ever stole things out of her purse. She claimed not to know the details of his jail time or case, though she'll probably see the headlines when he's sentenced this Friday. Anne has spoken up about her ex before, but last night she was able to joke about "crashing and burning." With the actress getting so much praise already for Rachel Getting Married and a new project in the works, hopefully Anne is staying happily distracted.

Anne Hathaway looks regal on the October cover of W magazine, but inside she gives the first peek into her fragile state talking about everything that happened in the wake of her breakup with Raffaello Follieri. The ex in question, Raffaello, pleaded guilty to all 14 counts against him today in an attempt to get less jail time and will be sentenced on Oct. 3, just the latest in the ongoing saga. Anne's interview took place three weeks after her breakup and his arrest, and while the actress is far from over it, she seems ready to emerge stronger than ever. Here are some highlights:

On when the news broke about Raffaello: "Right now I don’t have the wherewithal to be anything except professional. As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart. And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house. And then I had to go back and do more press, and I haven’t stopped since."
On moving on: "I was up in Nyack [New York] the other night visiting Jonathan [Demme] and his family. They all had so much going on. And I just started to cry because I thought, I don’t have a life right now. And I haven’t for some time, and I just haven’t noticed."
On her friends' support: "It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden. But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’ And Steve Carell stepped up for me during an interview when someone asked a question [about it]. He said, ‘At some point you’re going to have to talk about this time in your life. You don’t have to do it this week. I’ll take care of anything that comes your way.’ I’ve been shown such kindness. Not everyone gets that. A lot of people go through tough times alone."

It's heartbreaking to read Anne's words talking about the ongoing situation, but at least it sounds like she has an excellent support system ready to help her get through it. Hopefully soon enough we'll see that famous smile back on her face as she moves on.

Stars Hit the Courts For Men's US Open Finals

While the Fashion Week main event last night was Marc Jacobs, all the way out in Flushing, Queens, there was another star-studded show of talent. The men's US Open final took place with Roger Federer beating Andy Murray in three straight sets to win for the fifth year running. Anna Wintour made sure to get an early viewing of Proenza Schouler so she could catch her boy Roger in action, while Natalie Portman came for the second year in a row, only this time with a girlfriend rather than a date. Anne Hathaway shared a laugh with Star Jones, while Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend took in yet another night of the tournament. After the news of two more Spiderman movies, Tobey and Jennifer were straight faced during the match, but it looked like a fairly painless win for Federer to score himself yet another US Open trophy.

TIFF Gives VMAs a Run For Its Money

The MTV VMAs may have been the talk of the town, but the Toronto Film Festival proved to be just as star-studded. Brad Pitt showed off his Burn After Reading and talked about how little sleep he's getting these days taking care of six kids. Mark Ruffalo pulled double duty for Blindness with Julianne Moore and The Brothers Bloom with Adrien Brody, while Anne Hathway looked gorgeous continuing promotions for Rachel Getting Married. Of course, it wouldn't be a festive weekend without a few parties, and Kate Hudson, Diddy, and Lindsay Lohan were just a handful of stars who had plenty of fun without any movies of their own to endorse.

Anne Hathaway posed pretty at the Venice Film Festival earlier today promoting her new movie Rachel Getting Married. Judging by the trailer, she plays a bit of a badass but in real life she's still nursing a broken heart not helped by an upcoming story in Vanity Fair that reveals how she called ex Rafaello Follieri the love of her life. Thankfully, it sounds like she's starting to move on. According to Life & Style, she was spotted getting cozy with hot Josh Lucas at the Democratic National Convention last week. At the very least it sounds like they have politics in common even if it's nothing more than friendly rebound flirting for Anne.

As for other ghosts from Anne's past, she recently talked about how she feels about dropping out of Knocked Up, saying, "I don't think the reason matters at this point. Katherine Heigl did it, and did a tremendous job, you know. It was a great move for her, the film's been out for a year, got stellar reviews and did killer at the box office. I don't think it matters any more why I didn't do it." Sounds like Anne doesn't have any regrets, and we have a feeling her current box office success can only help.

At that moment Steve responded with, "In my role of agent [for] Miss Hathaway, I would like to say that she does not answer questions relating to this subject." Hopefully everyone behaved themselves this time around, but if not it sounds like Anne's guys have her back.

While Anne is busy getting over her breakup to her boyfriend of four years, Raffaello Follieri was hospitalized for a severe sinus infection. Methinks a $21 million bail might have caused that. Plus, as he prepares to miss that lavish Italian 30th birthday party he was planning, more and more details of his shady behavior emerge. At least Anne is far away from his mess now, even if she is somewhat heartbroken.
