Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt joined the rest of the celebrity voters and headed to the polls in LA yesterday. While their choice for President didn't win the election, the couple still took the opportunity to pose for patriotic photos. As they supported their candidates, Heidi's dad was endorsing Spencer. He told Life & Style, "Every father wants his daughter to be with someone like Spencer, believe me," and spoke highly of his future son-in-law. Heidi's mother, who is divorced from Mr. Montag, might not agree, but now the couple has at least one family member on their side.

Harvey Weinstein hosted an Election Night Party at Public House in NYC yesterday as everyone got together to watch Barack Obama elected President. James Franco beamed and hugged everyone around him. Jessica Alba posed with Taylor Momsen, who's not old enough to vote but still got in on the excitement. Jessica said of the election, "I think we all have to start to see the change we are waiting for. We need more people that think like him . . . that are, I don't know, thoughtful?" As for Obama's first order of business, "Helping Americans understand that you are part of the world and can't isolate yourself so much." Overall, the mood was one of joy as people cheered out of their windows and cars in celebration.

David Arquette and Courteney Cox had their friends over for an election night party at their home in LA last night. Their guests included adamant Obama supporter John Mayer and PSA stars Jennifer Aniston, Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher, and more. David was so excited when Obama's victory was announced that he came outside with a bottle of champagne and cups to share a toast with the paparazzi. At the end of the night, John and Jennifer snuck out and headed home together. While the energy in Chicago was palpable through the television, it wasn't limited to there; supporters all over the country and world joined in the celebration.

At 8 p.m. PST, as soon as the polls closed in California, Oregon and Washington, the networks called the election of President Barack Obama. Republican candidate John McCain suffered losses in Ohio, the state that narrowly gave President George W. Bush victory in 2004, but also in key states like Pennsylvania, Iowa and New Mexico. Congratulations to the Democrats and Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States.

The crowd, including Luciana and newborn Gia, looked more than happy to see Matt's big grin and he was kind enough to pose for photo ops — some with ladies sporting their expecting bellies. Matt isn't the only celebrity spending time down south — Elisabeth Hasselbeck is busy campaigning for Palin and the "sexist" wardrobe issue. Celebrity Democrats Take Front Seat at the LA Debates

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton faced off at the Kodak Theater in LA last night at the final Democratic debate before Super Tuesday and some of Hollywood's most famous faces were front and center. Leonardo DiCaprio looked deep in thought deciding between the two Democratic candidates left in the race while Pierce Brosnan and Christina Applegate were happy to pose on the red (blue) carpet. Yes, you read that correctly, there was a red carpet at the debate. Quentin Tarantino and Kerry Washington engaged in a little post-debate schmoozing, no doubt discussing all the issues of the evening. Were you watching last night? Oprah Winfrey hit the Barack Obama campaign trail this weekend, starting in Des Moines on Saturday before hitting South Carolina and New Hampshire on Sunday. In Iowa she spoke to 10,000 and by the time she got to SC there were 30,000 out to watch the media mogul support the presidential candidate. Even Oprah herself admitted to being nervous up there, but quickly gained momentum during her 17 minute speech where she was anything but shy about her support of and admiration for Barack. She said, "There are those who say it's not his time, that he should wait his turn. Think about where you'd be in your life if you'd waited when people told you to...I'm sick of politics as usual...We need Barack Obama."

Going on, "I understand the difference between the Book Club and a free refrigerator...I understand the difference between that and this critical moment in our nation's history...Over the years, I have voted for as many Republicans as I have Democrats...This isn't about partisanship for me. This is very, very personal. I'm here because of my personal conviction about Barack Obama and what I know he can do for America." While Oprah is just about as big as it gets in terms of star power, who knows what kinds of celebrities she'll inspire.
