Most of our favorite stars looked fabulous at last night's Costume Institute Gala, but a few of the superhero-inspired outfits fell flat. Fab and Bella have been all over the individual love it or hate it polls, and we picked out five of the evening's least-flattering ensembles. Kimora Lee Simmons — We know she loves to stand out, but this is not fabulosity.

Amanda Peet — The dark and dramatic dress is too much for her.

Thandie Newton — Is she ready for the bedroom or the red carpet?

Victoria Beckham — The whole look is too over the top, even for Posh.

Rachel Bilson — That dress looks like it's super-suffocating, not superhero.

Just about everyone who is anyone put on their finest and strutted down the red carpet at last night's Costume Institute Gala at the Met in NYC. It did not disappoint! From Tom and Katie to the Olsens to J Lo to Clooney — once again, it proved to be the most fabulous guest list of the year. The theme of the night was "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" which was also the theme of the exhibit unveiled and left the designers a lot of room to play when dressing their celebrities of choice.

I think the most fun theme-appropriate dress has to go to Christina Ricci while Diane Kruger's playful number was an all around favorite. Other highlights of course include Tom Cruise and a playful, colorful Katie Holmes and the always glamorous Beckhams. Scarlett flashed her new engagement ring on the arms of Dolce & Gabbana. Of course, love seeing the Olsens — both in Diane von Furstenberg, but two totally different looks. The hosts of the night were Julia Roberts and George Clooney, though while Danny Moder stayed at home Sarah Larson was happily on her man's arm. With a guest list of that magnitude, how much fun! Oh to be a fly on that wall — we can't wait to hear what went down inside the party!

Well hello, Gisele Bundchen! She works hard for all that money — the supermodel looked smoking hot with her man Tom Brady on her arm at tonight's Costume Institute Gala in NYC. I think it's fair to say that his transformation into full on fashion lover is complete. The slicked back hair is a bit much, but it's hard to complain about this stunning duo. You all seem pretty divided on her super sexy dress and are not loving her beauty choices, hmm. Well fine, we can disagree. Ha. The Hosts of the Costume Gala +1

Sarah Larson was the lucky plus one as George's date at tonight's Costume Gala. Giorgio Armani, Julia Roberts and George were a few of the first celebs to arrive to the event and considering they are hosting Anna Wintour's "Oscars on the East Coast" as we like to call it, we're glad they were on time and looking their finest. Sarah looks way better than she did at the Oscars and now that she is one of People magazine's most beautiful people (as well as George's girlfriend), we have a feeling we're going to keep seeing a whole lot more of her. Julia looks the most classic so far this evening which isn't all that super hero-ish but still beautiful. Do you agree?

After all the kind words Tom's friends and co-workers had to say to him on Oprah today, the couple hit the red carpet looking fantastic (or not, you decide!). They are a guest of Armani who is one of Katie's favorite designers and he even did her wedding gown. Once again the couple exude their happiness and after over 25 years of being an A-lister in Hollywood and looking stunning like that — no wonder their smiles are so large. Scarlett had Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce of the famous fashion house flanking her, but was clearly just glowing from her recent good news. Congrats again to Scarlett and Ryan.
