One of Ellen's best moments of the night came when, after handing Scorsese a script she's been working on, she approached another Best Director nominee, Clint Eastwood. At first he thought that he, too, would be graced with Ellen's future cinema genius, but she had different plans for her moment with him -- and let's just say she made good use of a nearby-seated Spielberg. LL & Nicole Hit the Oscars (Way) After-Party

Lindsay and Nicole may have missed (or weren't invited to, whatever) the Oscars and the Vanity Fair after party, but that didn't keep them home for the night. LL and the inseparable Nicole/Joel met up with Hollywood's A-listers at Patrick Whitesall's Oscar after-party. Lindsay looks classy and beautiful in her metallic mini dress and matching shoes (looks like someone was paying attention to Grammy trends), and apparently she stayed sober too! Nicole probably looks good, but these details remained unconfirmed, as she seemed perfectly content just draping herself over Joel instead of showing off her outfit.

While the A-Listers were off at that stuffy (okay, fun looking) Vanity Fair party, Jennifer Love Hewitt was hosting the annual Esquire/AIDS charity benefit party at the Abbey. This Oscars party held court for Something-Listers like Lance Bass, Haylie Duff and her boyfriend AJ DiScala. Yeah, the guest list may not be utterly thrilling, but at least J-Love looked great! The Bolero That Launched A Thousand Worst Dressed Lists

As Jennifer Hudson stepped onto the red carpet this Sunday, the world seemed to let out a collective Whaaaa? as they laid eyes on the silver bolero that would soon go down in Oscar fashion infamy. Thankfully, didn't make it on stage for her acceptance speech, but it seemed to be on the top of everyone's Worsts lists. Turns out, J-Hud herself might not have been too keen on the accessory, but her stylist for the evening, Vogue Celebrity Editor Andre Leon Talley insisted that she wear the thing. Scandal. Here's more:

"Jennifer was kind of sponsored by Talley and Vogue," said one fashionista. "Andre insisted she wear that hideous Oscar de la Renta dress with the awful, awful gold python bolero.

"Jennifer really didn't want to, and so [noted stylist] Jessica Paster got her a beautiful gold Roberto Cavalli custom-made. But when Andre found out, he went ballistic. Moments before she left for the show, there was a power struggle and Jennifer ended up putting his outfit on."

Awww, well it wasn't so bad. Plus, in a couple of months, her performance will be way more memorable than her jacket, right? Right?

Jennifer Aniston caught up with Oscar winner Helen Mirren at a Pre-Oscars party in LA last week. Jen looks like she's a big fan of Helen, whose style and class doesn't seem to be lost on anyone these days, even the Queen of England. Helen jokingly paid tribute to Her Majesty in her Best Actress Oscar speech and now word is that The Queen is arranging to have tea with the actress. Jen, on the other hand, has her own rendezvous rumors to deal with...

While filming her cameo on the season finale of Dirt, Jen reportedly found herself a new gentleman friend. Her rep, however, has quickly squashed that story, which is too bad, because we would love to see her find a new paramour.

For those lucky enough to win, The Oscar party continued at the Kodak Theater Governor's Ball after the show. They compared the sizes of their little gold men and basked in the general glow of each other. We don't blame them, so many of last night's winners waited for decades to get the recognition they deserve. Not just Martin Scorsese but Alan Arkin and Forest Whitaker as well. In case you missed it, here's a complete list of winners. As for the Sugar Network contest, we would like to congratulate the top winners of our ballot contest. The Grand Prize Prada Bag Winner is.... LegallyBlonder with 20 out of 24 correct!!!! Other runners up are Alliebelle and Witchy Ways with 19 and slashyelizabeth with 18 correct. Though last night's show had its share of highlights (we were particularly enamored with the shadow formation people things, video of which you can check out here), we can all probably agree that two of the biggest moments were when Martin Scorsese and Jennifer Hudson each won their awards. Here we've got videos of their speeches, one funny, one touching, both memorable. So enjoy (J-Hud's video also includes Simon Cowell's pre-show message, which was surprisingly sweet). Heck, play 'em at the same time for all I care. Though, gotta warn you, I'm not sure how well that mash-up would work out.

This is always my favorite part of ridiculously star studded parties -- the random group conversations that take place in the event. And last night's Vanity Fair party certainly didn't disappoint. Just imagine the possibilities in that Oprah/Nicole/Meryl/Mary conversation. Also, Gwyneth and Madonna totally have tons to chat about (living overseas, practicing accents, etc). The VF party is also notorious for housing some pretty raucous dancing (Dunst) and uncovering undercover romances (we saw them in Berlin and now here. Natalie and Gael are so back together). Plus, how cute is it when Leo and Kate hang out? (Answer: However old you were when Titanic came out-dorable.)

If you thought the women pulled out all the stops for the Vanity Fair party, take a look at the men. Day-um. (Okay, fine, the women are clearly more fabulous, but the dudes stepped it up a level from the status quo). Other than Ryan Phillippe, who looks like he woke up about 30 minutes earlier still wearing a suit from the night before and decided to just go with it. Meanwhile Tom looked better than he has in years (literally) while Adam continues to clean up real, real nice. As always, Prince's fabulocity was, well, fabulous.

While the winners trotted off to celebrate at the Governor's Ball, the rest of the nominees joined up with the non-Oscars attending celebs at the Vanity Fair party. These party goers may not have gone home with little gold men, but from the looks of it there were some beautiful gold women in the house and it was certainly the best party of the night. Elton John hosted his annual AIDS Foundation Oscar bash in Beverly Hills last night. We are missing the young Hollywood crowd but the more mature Tara Reid continued to impress although I am not a huge fan of her dress. At least she still looks cleaned up. The party did bring a few unlikely folks rubbing shoulders together. Posh and Diddy? Zac Posen and Dita and Kelly Osbourne? I would have loved to hear those conversations. So far Posh is my favorite at this party but we wish David were her date. As for Sarah Michelle Gellar, as much as I love her, this colorless drape is not doing much for her. Boo.

It's hard to pick our favorite part of the Oscars but watching the fabulous Dreamgirls' performances reminded me of how much I enjoyed that movie. Katie Takes 5 from Mommyhood to Get Back to Work

We were upset Katie Holmes did not walk the red carpet last night with presenter and husband Tom but we did get to see lots of the happy couple at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. We must say Tom's fabulous haircut made us love him like back in his Jerry Maguire days. While Tom has never stopped working, Katie is finally speaking out about getting ready to go back to work in a month. She's not expecting it to be easy, but Tom's evidently all for it and she's up to the challenge as well. Here's more:

Suri, says Holmes, is "doing really, really well. She's a beautiful little girl, and I feel so honored to be her mom, really."

Their favorite mother-daughter activity? "A lot of walking around," she says. "She loves just being outside right now."

Soon, however, Mrs. Tom Cruise will be heading back to work. "I'm going to start a film in about a month and a half called Mad Money with Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton. I play a young girl who's part of three women who rob the Federal Reserve."

She adds with a smile, "It's a comedy."

Holmes says returning to work "will be another challenge but I have a wonderful, supportive husband and family, and it's another project that were going to handle together and that's part of the fun."

We look forward to Katie working again also. It will be more exciting to see her work than shop all day at Barneys or hit the town with BFF Posh - although we love that too. The winners are in and they look like they are ready to celebrate! Congrats to Marty who finally took home his long overdue Oscar. It was great that his highly respected peers came to give him his big award. So fitting! I think this year it is amazing that an out of nowhere American Idol contestant has become an Oscar winner. On a side note, Jennifer Hudson looked more stunning on stage performing than on the red carpet. Congrats to all the winners!

The show! The show! How could you not love the show? So, last night happened, and those who won are sleeping with little gold men while those who were nominated are just happy to have been so, of course. It's hard to pick a favorite moment, but I have to say that I thought it was one of the more interesting broadcasts in years -- I mean there were rolling papers and shadow movie posters and Abigail Breslin and Little Jayden Smith together on stage, what's not to love? Oh, and btw, any word as to why Jack's head was completely shorn? Just wondering.

The Oscar Ladies: A Rainbow of Red Carpet Flavors

Last night the ladies brightened up the red carpet with an array of different colored dresses. While, Cameron went for a plain white dress, she showed off her Hawaiian tan rather nicely. Nicole definitely stood out in her long red Balenciaga number as well (too bad she has a weird huge bow). Gwyneth looked good in her perfectly structured gown while Naomi wore something loose to let her possibly pregnant belly stay comfortable. Isla Fisher looked gorgeous in emerald green while Reese stunned us once again in a fabulous purple Nina Ricci gown. While we did not highlight any here, a huge trend of the night was the color blue. Finally, Biel went bra-less and bright pink, while pretty Penelope went for a much more mellow shade of pink. Who do you think was the best dressed? Vote here. As much as they may try (I'm talking to you, moments like Uma -Oprah, Oprah - Uma) the Oscars aren't known for the hilarity, which is what makes this clip all the better. Not only do we have three funny men -- Will Ferrell, Jack Black, John C Reilly -- on the stage, but they're talking about how funny movies don't win Oscars. Plus, I'd be willing to bet this consistently makes the Best Oscars Moments list this year. Maybe there's hope for the acclaimed comedy after all?

Black and Blue for Oscar Men

The red carpet isn't the easiest place for men to stand out in the sea of glamorous fabulous women, but when they put it together just right, wow, it works. The only discernible man trend of the evening seemed to be the blue and black suit (and unnecessary facial hair...we're looking at you Djimon), but otherwise it was pretty status quo of dapperness. Many of the big named men, Affleck, Clooney, Nicholson, Scorsese, sadly opted out of the carpet festivities, but there was still some good hotness to go around. Thankfully, for Leo's sake at least, there seemed to be no shortage of hair gel in the LA area yesterday.

Naomi Watts Pregnant? Sure Looks Like It

We've speculated this for some time now but after watching the Oscars tonight we must say Naomi Watts really looks like she is sporting a belly bump on the red carpet tonight. Hope we get an official statement soon since it's gonna be pretty hard to hide it much longer.

UPDATE: While Naomi has yet to confirm anything, Escada took it upon themselves to announce her new arrival. Apparently the PR folks sent a release saying, "The ESCADA gown set off her most precious new asset – the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber." Maybe now Naomi will officially release a statement since we all clearly want to wish her formal congratulations.

Oscar Swag: Not Just For Movie Stars

Oscars week is a good time for everyone in Hollywood, not just those involved with nominated movies. In fact, you don't even have to be remotely involved with film (I would be talking to you, Lil' Kim, but I know you were in Juwanna Man) to score some free stuff at the swag events. Mischa was in the house and apparently anti clubbing baby seals this weekend as was Hayden who was certainly ready for the ring (though I think she should be careful, cause Lil' Kim did spend some time in the clink). Abigail, Petra, Rosario and more got dolled up at the Vavoom Salon this weekend. It may seem weird that I chose this swag event to highlight but I have a thing for Vavoom hair gel. I have been using it since I was about 13 and it's just one of those things I can't live without. Kinda like celebrities! Anyway, tonight is the big event and we can't wait to see who will be making acceptance speeches. While Jennifer Hudson is the front runner for the Best Supporting Actress award your votes want adorable Abigail to win.
