Fashionable folks gathered at Stella McCartney's London boutique last night to celebrate the annual Christmas light turning on ceremony. The designer's close pal Kate Moss turned up looking festive as ever in a gold lamé top, her signature black blazer, and over-the-knee boots. As always, the model added her personal touch — she threw on a low-slung black belt to downplay the shininess of the top.

Lady in red, begone — ladies in white are in full force. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicole Kidman, and Fergie all stepped onto Glamour's 2008 Women of the Year carpet in varying white gowns. Fergie (in Michael Kors) and Nicole (in L'Wren Scott) opted for floor-length while Sarah Michelle kept hers short.

Want to be a solid gold hit at the holiday soiree? Do like these gilded ladies and do it up in sparkling, golden-hued gowns. I would like to point out that all three of these starlets are blondes — brunettes and redheads can shine equally as strong.

The makeup pros turned to the culinary world for inspiration as they painted lips in hot tomato colours. For Autumn/Winter Miu Miu (below left) showed dark ketchup-coloured lips that were ultra glossy for eat-me appeal. Meanwhile next Spring is all about the orange-red, squashed tomato hue. 
In the run up to Christmas, which crazily enough has already started on planet beauty, I'm being practically bombarded with information about all the new perfume releases. Personally I'm not really interested in celebrity endorsements when it comes to scent. Instead I'm looking for an distinctive smell that has lasting power, plus a bottle that will look beautiful on my dressing table.

Some of you restrained yourselves when I shared the final Project Runway collections in September. Then, it was still six designers in the running, so I witnessed final collections by Joe, Jerell, Suede, Kenley, Korto, and Leanne. I still don't understand why this isn't planned better.
