For my money, the best video I've seen for Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" wasn't actually a video at all — it was the trailer NBC showed for Kings at the TCA press tour, which used the song's swells to perfect effect while showing off the modern-day David and Goliath story. That clip hasn't surfaced online yet, sadly, but now two actual videos for the title track from this Summer's album have.One (the official-official version, on the left here) is very similar to the iTunes commercial using the song, while the other (an alternate take, on the right, directed by Anton Corbijn) finds Chris Martin wandering all lost like in regal garb. So, which do you prefer?

Shia LaBeouf has undergone surgery for injuries to his left hand after a car crash in LA when he allegedly made a left turn, struck another car and rolled over twice. He was arrested for a misdemeanor and was booked and cited at the hospital, but was not required to pay bail and was given an August court date. — E! Online

You know, I'm not gonna lie: kind of a tame Summer for music, don't you think? Not to say that there weren't solid releases from big names, but it's that time of year when everyone seems to be singing the same song ("Umbrella-ella-ella-ella!") and yet I can't seem to find a consensus of what songs are perpetually on the radio, in our heads, or on the dance floor. But here are the songs that, as far as I can tell, are on heavy rotation right now. Coldplay Brings La Vida To NYC and Famous Blondes

Coldplay wrapped up their trio of free shows at MSG last night with some famous blondes cheering from the audience. Of course Gwyneth Paltrow was there to support her husband Chris Martin while Charlize Theron and Kirsten Dunst were just there to enjoy the music and theatrics. Afterwards, Gwyneth and Chris partied the night away with the likes of Ed Burns. By all accounts the show was a success, with only a few minor technical glitches, and the band pleased the crowd by playing the hits. Viva La Vida currently sits at the top of the US Billboard's Hot 100 chart and is expected to top the album chart as well — not too shabby. Of the triumph, Martin said on stage, "It just goes to show you what good marketing and a handsome bass player can do."

Chris Martin and his Coldplay bandmates had lots to celebrate at their Madison Square Garden gig in New York last night, being the first British act in 37 years to hold the top spot in the UK and US singles charts simultaneously. Like their recent London gig, tickets for the concert were given away but some fans paid upto £400 for a pair. Helena Christensen and Molly Sims were amongst the crowd, as were Charlize Theron and Kirsten Dunst. After having difficulties performing "Chinese Sleep Chant", Chris joked: "Oh, this is embarrassing - let's go home. We come over here, we steal your women and we can't even play one song". Bet Gwyneth is super proud.
