Tell Mommy: Does Your Child Go By Another Name?

A child by another name is still your child. You spent months agonizing over what name to give your lil one and then one day she decided that she'd go by something different. Most tots have wild imaginations so it's hilarious to hear what they come up with. Brad Pitt recently revealed to Oprah that his daughter, Shiloh, will only answer to the name John right now. He said:

She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing, so we’ve got to call her John. "Shi, do you want …" – "John. I’m John." And then I’ll say, "John, would you like some orange juice?" And she goes, "No!" So, you know, it’s just that kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.

We've been waiting patiently for the rest of the W Magazine spread and interview since first seeing the controversial cover of Angelina Jolie and initial quotes last week. Now, the article is here and while only a taste of the 21 page photo spread is out, you can check out eight of the gorgeous photos here. Love how personal and intimate they seem — the whole family looks stunning. There is also the back story on how the shoot came to be with Brad as photographer, but here are more interview highlights:

On Maddox's love of guns and knives: “My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” she recalls. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some things. We take him to a special shop.” She emphasizes that the knife blades are dulled so they’re not dangerous, and that the purchases are accompanied by discussions about violence. But, she says, “we also talk about samurais and about the idea of defending someone as good. We talk about everything.”
On traveling: “It’s part of how I want to raise them,” Jolie says, adding that they’ve shown no resistance to being uprooted. “If you tell them we’re getting on a plane tomorrow, they’re all excited to pack their bags, and if you say we’re not coming back for months, they won’t bat an eye,” she says. “I think they see the world as a home. I’ve seen Madd run through the markets of Addis Ababa [in Ethiopia] and not notice that it’s very poor, or that everyone is African or that he’s Asian. It wouldn’t matter to him.” If Jolie has a favorite possession, she says, it’s the overstuffed Tumi case that holds the family’s travel documents: Vietnamese, Namibian, Ethiopian, French and American passports, plus her own UN credentials.

The Jolie-Pitts Globe Trot Back to France

Just like that, the Jolie-Pitts are back in France. The family arrived at the Nice airport in their pajamas early this morning after an all-night flight. We were just reveling in seeing Angelina and Brad cuddling and watching Maddox and Pax play in New Orleans, but it looks like they were using up all their energy before the long plane ride. The family of eight filed out one by one with Brad and Angelina juggling the twins in their car seats. The family is back in their French home for the next week or so before they return to Germany where Brad will be filming Inglorious Bastards. Just another whirlwind week around the world for the Jolie-Pitts and their six jet-setting children.

Celebaby Style: The Jolie-Pitt Brood

The Jolie-Pitts rarely stay in one place for long. A big weekend in Manhattan provided the tots with some artful culture, but it was back to the land of Cajun po-boys and beignets as the troop made their way to the Big Easy. Roaming the streets of New Orleans, the Jolie-Pitt pack chomped on Cheetos Puffs before stopping in for brunch at a local eatery.

Always dressed up in some funky fashions, baby Shiloh sported a punk-rock look in her black jeans and "Destroy All" gray tee while her big sis Zahara looked like the spunky feminista in red corduroy pants, a pink velour top, and some sporty brown kicks. Not to be outshone by his lil sisters brother Pax let his hair fly in the breeze while he strutted along in a black v-neck tee, some army green overalls, and a pair of practical taupe suede Merrells. And, of course, mama Angelina looked ever so pretty in a simple black frock, ballet flats, sunglasses, and her au natural facade.

Some of the hottest celebrity tots were out and about this weekend. Tom Cruise toted his crew to the Big Apple to support wife Katie. Posh Beckham took her boys to Build-A-Bear where the brood showed off their fashionable faux hawks and white sneakers. Minnie Driver gave us a sneak peek at Henry Driver while her ex Matt Damon showed off his newest daughter Gia to some fellow sportsmen. Angelina Takes Half the Jolie-Pitt Bunch For an Afternoon Walk

Just this morning we were hoping for a glimpse of the Jolie-Pitt kids after seeing Brad riding his bike around New Orleans, and sure enough Angelina stepped out this afternoon with Shiloh, Pax, and Zahara! Shiloh is looking so big in her Crocs, but still got a ride from Angelina while Pax and Zahara were too sweet holding hands. The little ones were even treated to Cheetos as they strolled around the French Quarter. Now, if only Knox and Vivenne were ready to make their first public appearance before the family jets off to a new location again.

Angelina, Brad and the Kids Arrive in New York!

Angelina, Brad and the rest of the Jolie-Pitt family arrived in Manhattan last night before Angie's Saturday premiere of Changeling. The family flew in from Germany where they just started living while Brad films Inglorious Bastards after spending the Summer in France. Shiloh looked adorable and sleepy after the long flight while Brad carried in Zahara and one of the twins in the carseat. We've heard news of Angelina the past few months, from the large donations that have been given to rumors of trouble between her and Brad, but it's fantastic to get a peek at her after all of this time. Hopefully we'll see more of the Jolie-Pitts as they play around the Big Apple, but for now it's great to get a glimpse at the family arriving back in the states.
