Pete Wentz took a day off from his new daddy duties to film FNMTV and get festive to tape an MTV Christmas special in LA on Monday. Though Pete has to get back to work, he had plenty to say about his first few days with his new family in an interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning. Here are highlights:

Ashlee Simpson gave birth to a baby boy tonight, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, the first child for her and husband Pete Wentz. The couple had a labor false alarm this weekend, but apparently Ash went into labor yesterday. Their spokesperson said, "Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!"

Ashlee Simpson celebrated this weekend with a last minute Winnie the Pooh-themed baby shower at the Hotel Bel-Air on Saturday afternoon. She and Pete were joined by family and friends in what he recently described as the "very end" of her pregnancy and while a trip to Cedars-Sinai was in the cards, it wasn't to welcome the new addition. After the shower, Jessica headed off to dinner with a group including CaCee Cobb and Ken Paves, but unfortunately things got messy on their way out.

At the end of last month, a 13-year old boy was told by school officials in Hamilton, OH that he needed to remove his black lipstick and eye liner because his makeup was "extreme and distracting." The boy, Matt, didn't see it that way, saying, "I don't find this distracting at all." His mom felt that the school system was being discriminatory.

Ashlee Simpson turned 24 on Friday, and Pete Wentz celebrated by taking her to see Wicked in LA on Saturday. The couple matched in Fall essential beanies, to go with Ashlee's unmistakable long red hair. While Ashlee's been in LA, Pete's been busy promoting his upcoming Fall Out Boy album in NYC and keeping us updated with his blog and Twitter.

Jessica Simpson performed at the LA County Fair on Saturday night and Ashlee brought her baby bump and Pete out to support her chart-topping sister. Jess wore her favorite country girl outfit on stage and then changed into her Cowboys jersey on Sunday when departing LAX with Daisy. Jessica has had a permanent smile on her face lately and she recently talked about the source of her happiness.
