When Oprah announced there was
a twist to her famous favorite things episode this year, I was thrilled to learn the difference was in cost. It seems she is taking
a note from TeamSugar members this year and promoting several homemade gifts that are big on thought and easy on the wallet. Oprah said, "Bringing real meaning back to the holidays is my favorite thing."

If there's one Oprah show that gets the audience more riled up than any other, it's the one where she reveals her favorite gifts for the holidays. The audience goes nuts when they discover which of her favorite things they'll be receiving and everyone is on a big holiday/Oprah high. In the spirit of this economically grim season, she's doing things differently this year.
Brad Pitt chatted with Oprah a few weeks ago, and tomorrow we'll finally get to see the full episode. Until then,
here are a few more cute quotes where Brad talks about how funny the kids are and reveals a few of their little quirks:
- On being a dad: "[The kids are] the funniest people I've ever met. And you know it really tells you — it's a great mirror for yourself.

A very happy Jennifer Aniston was on Oprah today to catch up and talk about everything that has been rehashed this week —
the Vogue interview, how Brad's doing these days, and her Angelina quotes. Jennifer admitted that she thinks the
cover doesn't do the interview justice (we agree) and when asked whether she's dating John Mayer she answered "yes." She also denied pregnancy rumors and chatted with her costar Owen Wilson via satellite.

Between her
postelection special and her
hilarious appearance on 30 Rock, Oprah Winfrey had
a pretty huge week last week. But there was one big rumor swirling toward the end of it: that
Oprah might quit her talk show in 2011 to focus on
starting her TV network.
Oprah's current contract expires in Fall 2011, but her production company, Harpo, said
no decision has been made about whether to continue the show beyond that.

I know I don't usually recap
30 Rock around here, but after this week's episode — which featured a guest appearance from Oprah — I figured there was no better time to talk about the show. If you haven't seen the episode yet,
the whole thing's on Hulu, so treat yourself this Sunday and give it a watch. Some of my favorite moments:
- The idea that Jack Donaghy's tranquilizers might lead to "sleep crime."
- Liz, under the influence of said tranquilizers, whispering that she was "snitting next to Barpo."
- Tracy Jordan's monster claw.
- Sweater capes!
- Oprah's ninth-grade boyfriend.
If none of this makes sense to you, you owe it to yourself to watch that episode now.
President-elect Barack Obama had a huge week, and while he certainly deserves the spotlight, Oprah Winfrey also shared a bit of his attention in the past few days. For starters, she was teary-eyed in Chicago while watching Obama's speech, and followed up with a
special episode of her talk show dedicated to the future commander-in-chief. Today she even had the man
who shared her joy and tears as a guest, though it was Will Smith who stole the show as he re-enacted his emotional reaction to the election announcement.

Oprah Winfrey's shelter magazine, O at Home has folded,
according to a Hearst press release. The publication's content will be consolidated back into its flagship, The Oprah Magazine, under Editor in Chief Susan Reed. The last issue, Winter 2008, will hit newsstands Nov.

One celebrity I never get to use in my regular
Match the Celeb With the Cell Phone feature is
Oprah Winfrey. Why? Because girlfriend "didn't" have a cell phone — until now!
