Not many celebrities busted out non floor-grazing frocks this year at the
Emmys but the ones who did worked it well. This time, shorter hemlines ranged from sassy knee length to retro ankle skimming heights. All of these ladies look distinctive, but which look was your favorite?

Lavishly beaded dresses are no strangers to the red carpet. Nevertheless, their gorgeousness paid us many visits at the
2008 Primetime Emmy Awards. Whether on neutral, black, or white dresses, sparkly beads and crystals made the carpet a much more luminous place tonight.

Designer L'Wren Scott made this white number for actress Kyra Sedgwick. Short frocks are catching my eye at this year's
Emmys. The sequined detail around the bodice and straps saves it from being too plain.

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon were among the presenters at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in NYC last night, where outlets such as CNN.com, the NY Times, and GQ were all applauded for their work this year. When Barbara Walters was honored for her reporting on transgendered children
she said, "You can forget all the Emmys . .

Here is my second favorite part of any red carpet show down: Letting you all decide who was the best dressed of the night. These final six were narrowed down by
your votes and I tell ya, this is a toughie. We concluded that because the Golden Globes were a no-go, ladies decided to strut their stuff in high style for
the SAGs.

Just like
Nikki Blonsky, Kyra chose a gown in vibrant cobalt blue. Her L'Wren Scott hugs her in all the right places, and is just beautiful all around, don't you think? Vote on all the SAG Red Carpet looks
here.

Call me crazy but I like Kyra's Oscar de la Renta frock she wore to the
Critics' Choice Awards last night. I like drama on the red carpet and Kyra delivered just that. The shoes are questionable, but can you really ever go wrong with Oscar?

In quintessential NY fashion, black ruled at the 17th annual Gotham Awards in Brooklyn last night. Maggie, Uma and Keri all went with it, leaving only Kerry Washington to brighten up the carpet in blue.
Into the Wild and
Sicko won the best film categories for feature film and documentary respectively.

Just like Justin Timberlake who said he uses
iChat to stay connected while on the road,
Kyra Sedgwick also confessed her love for
iChat on Conan O'Brien recently. When asked how she keeps in touch with her husband in NYC while in LA she said that she prefers iChat over using the phone—"Lets just say I'm really grateful for Steven Jobs, he's kept my marriage together." She also mentions how she hasn't mastered the art of
text messaging, thinking that 'lol' meant lots of love instead of laugh out loud—too cute!

You've heard me go on and on about the
menswear trend. When done right, it can make a girl look confident and fashion forward. When done incorrectly, per Kyra Sedgwick, it becomes a fashion train wreck.
