LA was host to the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards last night, and nominees, presenters and performers flocked to the red carpet for the show. Black seemed to be the order of the day as Christina Aguilera, Ashlee Simpson, Miley Cyrus and Heidi Montag showed up in gothic tones, meanwhile Heidi's The Hills arch-enemy Lauren Conrad showed up in a gorgeous short white dress. Pink wore a striking red and black striped number, while Katy Perry turned up in... 
I realize part of the rock 'n' roll appeal is the fact that musicians themselves don't play by the rules and can be crazy. Even so, the video clips that LimeWire's music blog dug up showcasing some of the more outrageous rock star "attacks" are kinda shocking.

Ashlee Simpson went layered winter chic last night at the 2007 CosmoGirl Born to Lead Awards in NYC. Pete was there to support his December cover girl and even brought the rest of his band along for the party. The night before, Ashlee was by his side for his Angels and Kings Karaoke party, where he talked about how she's been helping him with his broken foot.
