Paris Hilton brought Benji Madden and a whole lot of eye makeup to the premiere of
Repo! The Genetic Opera at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas last night. Paris strutted around, posing with the cast in her little dress before changing into another silver and black ensemble for the afterparty.

The illusionist (how's that different from a magician again?) Criss Angel performs some trick so that it looks like a child turns into a 20-year-old. I'm actually not all that interested in this trick. (She's standing on a table, I'm sure something's going on under the table we don't know about.) Instead, I was too busy being unsettled by his approaching an 8-year-old child and turning her into a barely legal adult, especially when he asks her mother, "Can I try something with your daughter?"

Last night Kenny Chesney was declared the Entertainer of the Year for the fourth year in a row at the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Vegas. Garth Brooks was also back in the limelight to receive the first-ever Crystal Milestone Award for his outstanding achievements. Performer Keith Urban didn't need a trophy to make him gush.

Saying NBC has put a bit of effort into promoting
Phenomenon would be like saying
Pushing Daisies is "a bit cute" or Dr. House is "a bit cranky." I'm hoping that the show's premiere tonight means my viewing of other NBC shows will no longer be interrupted by a Phenomenon ad covering up the bottom quarter of the screen.

This month, NBC will premiere a new series called "Phenomenon," a reality show hosted by Criss Angel and Uri Geller searching for
the next great mentalist. The show will pit 10 contestants against each other in various mystifying challenges, and viewers will be able to vote for their favorites. The winner will take home $250,000.
I'm a bit behind on this whole Criss Angel/mentalist trend, so I'm wondering: Is this a show that interests you?

Britney was still attached at the hip with Criss in LA on Monday. The new rumor about them is they did hook up,
Criss is mostly using Brit for publicity (duh) and ignores her when they go out. Also, that the VMA performance isn't as illusion-filled as we've been hearing - thanks for nothing, Criss.

Britney came through with her hosting duties at the opening of LAX at the Luxor Hotel on Friday night. The singer put on a happy face as she quickly walked the red carpet to join her crowd of girlfriends inside. She also spent most of her evening with Criss Angel - her possible collaborator in her upcoming VMA act and rumored new fling (gross).
