Have you ever watched
In the Motherhood on the web? I
saw a few clips of it earlier this year, and while I don't really fit into the show's "by moms, for moms" demographic, it's pretty cute and funny — especially Chelsea Handler as an imperfect, wisecracking mom. (Never would have thought of that casting!)
Well, now a version of the show is coming to primetime.

First, I've got to say that I'm happy Lindsay Lohan has completed enough work on a project to have it made into a trailer. Maybe it's my
Mean Girls fandom talking, but I'm really rooting for her to have a good acting comeback.
So, here's the trailer for
Labor Pains, which we first heard about
back in June.

Note: I posted this review soon after I saw this movie at
Sundance, and today it's out in theaters, so I thought I'd share my thoughts again. It has some flaws, but overall I really like this movie.
Henry Poole Is Here was one of the first non-documentary feature films to be
snatched up by a studio at this year's Sundance, and I can easily see why.

Britney Spears slipped into a sexy
LBD and hit the blue carpet with a smile on Saturday night at the Generation Rescue Event hosted by Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy. The pop star apparently
sipped on red wine, looked happy and expressed interest in the information about autism Jim and Jenny presented through the night. Friday's big news about
settling her custody dispute with Kevin — even though she now owes him $20,000 per month in child support — must have put Britney in a good enough mood to want to hit the town and hang out with some celebrity friends.

See how I avoided one of those fake-sensational headlines like "Lindsay Lohan Has Labor Pains"? She's not actually pregnant (as far as we know) but she is
set to star in the indie comedy Labor Pains alongside great comedic actors like Chris Parnell and Cheryl Hines.
The movie — which was "in limbo" for a while due to a lack of funding — follows "an assistant (Lohan), working in a stuffy publishing house, who pretends to be pregnant in a desperate attempt to keep her nasty boss from firing her."

When reading this casting news today, I got the eerie feeling that someone out there overheard my silent prayers for there to be a) more lead roles for talented female comedians, b) more funny film opportunities for John Krasinski, and c) more promising light-hearted movies in 2008. Now, the hilarious
SNL star Maya Rudolph has been paired with Krasinski and given the lead role in a relationship-themed comedy. Amen!

When I first saw the poster for
The Grand I had to groan. Not another casino movie! But then I looked a little closer and found some familiar, welcome names like Cheryl Hines, David Cross, Chris Parnell, Judy Greer and Woody Harrelson.

This news has tugged on the ol' heartstrings today:
Cheryl Hines has signed on to direct the last screenplay
Adrienne Shelly created before her tragic death last year. Shelly wrote, directed and starred in last year's wonderful romantic comedy
Waitress, but she was murdered before the film was released. Hines also starred in Waitress alongside Keri Russell.

While some TV stars have already put their
Emmy party hats on, others are taking their clothes off for a good cause. Eva Longoria, David Boreanaz and Felicity Huffman are just a handful of celebs that attended an LA fundraiser yesterday for
Clothes Off Our Back, an organization through which stars auction off their outfits, gowns and accessories for charity. While we wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of Eva's
fabulous red dress - we're more excited to see what our favorite stars put together for the
Emmy red carpet on Sunday.

George Clooney went from the
Venice Film Festival to the Deauville Film Festival this weekend for another premiere of
Michael Clayton. He arrived at the Deauville airport looking fresh and suave in white, then showed off his gray scruff while dressed in all black for the premiere. Clooney not only debuted
Michael Clayton in Deauville, he was also honored with the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres medal in France.
