We can always count on our homegrown soaps to keep us regularly entertained with true to life and ridiculously outlandish storylines that lead to plenty of laughs and tears. Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale all pull in large, loyal audiences, but for our
Best of 2008 series, I'd love to know which one you like the most, so tell me — which is your favourite British soap?

The ladies of Girls Aloud were out for a festive dinner with their friends and men last night in London. Cheryl and Ashley Cole were all smiles as they left their hotel and headed out for dinner, and with
The X Factor on everyone's lips at the moment Cheryl certainly has every reason to be grinning. Meanwhile Sarah Harding and her man Tom Crane were all over each other in the cab after they left the restaurant,
like George Clooney, it seems they were also feeling the holiday spirit!

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart looked suitably ghoulish at the UK Premiere of Twilight in London's West End last night. The stars of the film were joined by the Britannia High kids and other British celebs on the red carpet, as well as
huge numbers of teenage fans. Robert is building a big lead as
your favourite British export of 2008, so he's got plenty to celebrate this festive season.

As the days get colder, the cinema is a cosy prospect. Several big films are released this month, from romances and comedies to dramas and children's movies with that crossover-appeal. I'd love to know which you're excited about, and which you'll avoid, so take my slideshow poll and tell me if you plan to see or skip each film.

We've seen Jeremy Edwards
practicing his ice skating skills, and now Melinda Messenger is training to dance on ice. The former glamour model is amongst those
tipped to be competing in the next series of Dancing On Ice in January.
Is the show your favourite reality series of 2008? Melinda's also been busy this week
launching her new perfume, and reports suggest things are going well at home too.

Now it's December, we've officially entered the festive season and Christmas movies are starting to become prominent in the TV schedules. Now Four Christmases is
number one at the box office, with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn bringing a little holiday spirit to cinema audiences. But do you love Christmas movies?

As those of you who
took my quiz know, it was Britney Spears' 27th birthday yesterday, and she spent it performing on US TV, before partying it up in the evening. She performed on Good Morning America in her circus-themed get up,
putting on a very similar show to the one
she did on The X Factor, but with added fire and a different outfit. And yes, she was definitely
still miming.
