As I continue to prep for my journey northward to the
2008 Sasquatch Music Festival, I'm sharing music from some of the bands I'm looking forward to checking out live.
I've already written about the soft, intimate
vocals of Joshua Morrison and today I'm spotlighting a band that is already a bit hit in the UK:
The Kooks. I like to balance out both my iPod as well as my festival-going experience with equal parts pretty song writing and bouncy, upbeat rock.

Mojo magazine
have announced the shortlist of nominations voted by readers for their annual awards – the 2008 Mojo Honours List. Alex Turner has lots to celebrate, with four nominations split between his two bands – in the Best Album and Best Live Act categories for Arctic Monkeys, and Breakthrough Act and Best Song nominations for The Last Shadow Puppets.
The lovely Duffy should also be very happy with three nominations including Breakthrough Act, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds scored two nominations for Best Album and Song of the Year.

Musos and their followers were out in force for the NME Awards at the IndigO2 this evening. Arctic Monkeys won three awards (Best Band, Best Track and Best Video) out of the seven they were nominated for, making it three years in a row that they've won three awards! NME's Hero Of The Year award went to Pete Doherty (why?) and
Brit winner Kate Nash won Best Solo Act.

Here's your concise guide to who won what at the
Brits this evening – Take That, Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters were the big winners, with 2 each! I knew Take That would do well! Hurrah!

We had a mix of smart suits and casual clothes from the men on the red carpet at the
Brit Awards tonight. It seems to be the case that male musicians' sartorial decisions are based on whether they fly solo or hang in a gang. Ever handsome solo artists
Will Young and
Shayne Ward kept it classic in tailoring, as did producer extraordinaire
Mark Ronson, whereas the cheeky chaps of the Klaxons looked like they'd come straight from the playground in their
fun jumpers!

Well, you guys voted and it's time to collate the data and tell you who your winners are for our PopSugar UK Brit Awards Bets 2008:
British Male – Mark Ronson
British Female – Leona Lewis / Kate Nash / Bat For Lashes
British Group – Arctic Monkeys
British Album – Mark Ronson Version / Leona Lewis Spirit
British Single – Mark Ronson "Valerie"
British Breakthrough – Mika
British Live Act – Muse
International Female – Rihanna
International Male – Kanye West
International Group – Foo Fighters
International Album – Arcade Fire / Kylie Minogue / Foo Fighters
Am very disappointed at the lack of Take That - come on people!! Perhaps you're all more realistic than me, though. The Sharon & Ozzy-hosted ceremony is on TV from 8pm so we shall see how you all did as the winners are revealed!
The celebs are already arriving for the
Brit Awards 2008, and making their way up the red carpet. This is the place to be if you want to see who's arriving – just keep an eye on the ever-expanding gallery.
Kylie was first out of her car, and our girl Fab UK wants to know
what you think of her outfit. She'll be polling you on all your favourite celebs' looks this evening, so if you have a fashion-related opinion, take her
Brit Awards Love It or Hate It polls now!
UPDATE: Girls Aloud have indeed
arrived as a foursome, no Nadine in sight.
