well i guess as long as he's just doing a few appearances here and there, then he's being true to taking the time off to be with his wife and new baby and other children. i don't know - i'm still bugged about celebs all being involved in the political race, but i guess i can't really change the world can i?

Matt's Obama fascination is a huge turn o-f-f! But Hollywood isn't thinking this year, I guess, led as always by Babs S. This year, character does not count...so neither does Matt:(

Why do they call it things like "vote fest" and the like, when they are really just Obama rallies? Why not call a duck a duck?

Right there with ya little k, right there with ya.

    Part of his quote says

"But it is very important for me to do what I can to help the Obama campaign so people will go out and vote. "

He should have added "For Obama" to the end of that because you KNOW that's the only reason he's there, to get votes for Obie.

People shouldn't base their vote on opinions of a popular actor/performer.

I don't know why people think celebrities can not have an opinion about politics. We are all citizens. I didn't knock Chuck Norris for backing Huckabe.

Again, like on every post about this, no on is saying they can't have an opinion. They just need to express it like the rest of us and not take advantage of their platform.

I'd take advantage of the platform. Whatever it takes, that's legal and honest of course, to get Obama elected :naughtyelves:.

Anyway celebs are a part of the class that will be hit by higher taxes, let him rally and show his support for Obama and Obama's potential impact on the country regardless to how it affects him personally.

Someone making 10 million a film will not feel the hurt as much as someone making 250k. They just won't.

    I love Matt Damon.

Obama Biden 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obama or die! *wink*

I can't see how any intelligent person would vote for McCain, especially after he chose that idiot Palin as his running mate.... now THAT doesn't make sense at all.

And I believe celebrities have a right to voice their opinions. Usually its conservatives who get mad when celebrities talk about politics because the celebrities happen to have opposing beliefs.... well how come no one complains when republican celebrities talk?

While I may dislike conservatives, they have a right to voice their opinions too as celebrities. Its a free country.

I don't think its fair to say "they're celebrities....what do they know? leave politics for the politicians". Well the same could be said for regular people like you and me.

Obama is an inspirational candidate, this is a historic election, and maybe people just can't help but do something and be involved. Geez yall'd be b*tching if celebs didn't care enough about current events and the country they live in.

LittleMissM, I can raise my hand as a republican that DOES speak out when republican celebrities voice their opinions because to me it is WRONG no matter which side you are on.

I can't see how any intelligent person would vote for McCain.

The same could be said of Obama supporters you know.

Mykie - I love that movie! The Crush is so good and Cary Elwes is hot in it (he plays the guy, Nick, that she obsesses over).

It's nice to see Alicia around, I wish she was in more movies.

    Go Obama!
