Amanda Gorman Gave Her Mom a "Special Thanks" For Helping With Her Vogue Shoot

Amanda Gorman's history-making Vogue cover wouldn't be possible without her mom — no really. According to the 23-year-old poet's Instagram, her mom assisted behind the scenes with all of the hair looks that you see in Vogue's May 2021 issue.

In addition to shouting out the entire team that worked on the cover story, from the photographer (Annie Leibovitz) to the makeup artist (Raisa Flowers), Gorman made a point to mention her mom's all-important role as hairstylist Lacy Redway's assistant for the day. "💛 Special thanks to my mom who helped with hair on-set," read her caption.

Redway, who's worked with the likes of Andra Day, Tessa Thompson, and Hunter Schafer, also showed appreciation for Gorman's mom in her own Instagram post. "Hair by me," Redway wrote in the caption. "With the loving help from Amanda's mom. Bc we can't have assistants on set during covid." Talk about a memorable day.
