CNCO Had Everyone Dancing — and Sighing — During the VMAs Pre-Show

I have to admit, I'm extremely conflicted. Here I am, watching and rewatching CNCO kill their performance of "De Cero" at the MTV VMAs pre-show, having heart palpitations and everything because they're making me feel like a teenager again — but then I think about the fact that I'm 11 years older than one of them and feel a little weird that I'm loving these boys.

At the same time though, I'm so proud to see how professional CNCO are, owning a stage in front of an audience that doesn't necessarily understand what they're saying, but are totally feeling their vibe. They are an updated, more stylish version of the '90s boy bands we loved and crushed on, bringing back sick dance moves choreographed and executed to perfection, highlighting everyone's strengths.

The band is still in its early stages, having formed in 2015 thanks to Univision's reality show La Banda, where five Latino young men from different nationalities won the chance to become the next Latin America pop band, and have since transcended into the mainstream American market.

Christopher from Ecuador, Erick Brian from Cuba, Joel from Mexico, Richard from Dominican Republic, and Zabdiel from Puerto Rico keep proving that with hard work and discipline — and talent that is constantly cultivated — you can conquer your dreams. They've already been nominated for Latin Grammys, won Latin American Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Latin Billboards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and performed at the VMAs pre-show. Next year we can see them performing at the live show and winning a moon man for sure!
