A Stranger Spent $540 on Girl Scout Cookies So the Troop Could Get Out of the Cold

Emerson and Maya — two Girl Scouts from Greenville, SC — recently had a serious bout of good luck. While selling Girl Scout cookies outside a local store, a kind stranger did them a solid: he spent $540 on every single box of cookies. Kayla Dillard, the cookie manager, took a photo of the good Samaritan and explained that the man didn't want the girls standing outside in the 34-degree weather for a moment longer.

"This man purchased seven packs of cookies," Kayla wrote on Facebook. "[He] gave the girls $40, told them to keep the change. Then he came back to the table and said 'Pack up all of your cookies. I'm taking them all so y'all can get out of this cold' $540 he spent on cookies. What an amazing soul!!!!"

Although the man has remained anonymous, the scouts are especially thankful. "It was about 34 degrees outside that night, and we were there for about two hours already before he came," Dillard told CNN. "We all were shocked. The girls were very excited and thankful."
