Amy Schumer Salutes Jessica Simpson's Postbaby Weight Loss, but She's in "No Rush" Herself

Amy Schumer's response to Jessica Simpson's postbaby weight loss reminds me of a favorite quote by another funny Amy (Poehler): "Good for her, not for me." What works for one mom may not be right for another, and that's perfectly OK. Amy Schumer summed up those sentiments in an Instagram post published on Sept. 30, which gives a nod to Jessica's accomplishment without shaming a different approach — all with Amy's signature humor, of course.

Amy welcomed her son, Gene, with husband Chris Fischer in May, while Jessica gave birth to her third child, Birdie Mae, in January. Last week, Jessica said she felt like herself again after losing 100 pounds in the span of six months. "Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder," she wrote in her Instagram caption.

Jessica's post got the attention of many celebrities, including Amy, who was prompted to share something of her own. "Ok Simpson!" Amy captioned her own Instagram photo. "Well I've lost 10 pounds and 100 dollars to my sister playing poker." She added the hashtags "#norush" and "#givememymoneybackkim" to further emphasize her point.

This is an important reminder that regardless of what the scale says or what your body looks like, every mom should feel celebrated and beautiful postpartum. Bravo to both of these ladies!
