Here Are the Final Numbers on Jurassic World's Record-Breaking Opening Weekend

The Avengers are no match for Jurassic World. Not only was Chris Pratt's dino-fest the top movie of the weekend, but it also earned the distinction of having the biggest opening weekend in history. It debuted to $209 million in the US, besting Marvel's The Avengers, which previously held the record with $207.4 million. The opening weekend alone means Jurassic World is the third highest grossing film of 2015 so far, behind Avengers: Age of Ultron and Furious 7. It has already made more money than Cinderella, Pitch Perfect 2, and Fifty Shades of Grey. Worldwide, it has earned over $511 million already. Watch out, Avatar; the Indominus rex is coming for you.
