Quinta Brunson can make us laugh with or without a script. During the 2023 Golden Globes, the writer accepted the award for best television series, musical or comedy for "Abbott Elementary," and naturally, she paused her acceptance speech to say hi to Brad Pitt in the audience.

"Comedy is so important to me," Brunson said after thanking some of her favorite comedians in the crowd. "Comedy brings people together. Comedy gives us all the same laugh. Hey, Brad Pitt," she said, clearly starstruck by the actor's presence in the audience. "He's right there," she giggled. After sharing a laugh with the "Abbott Elementary" cast behind her, Brunson continued. "I'm gonna pull it together to say that we make this show because we love comedy and we love TV." She proceeded to thank her showrunners, writers, and cast before heading off stage.

It was a big night for the "Abbott Elementary" cast. Brunson also won the Golden Globe award for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy, and Tyler James Williams won best supporting actor in a musical, comedy or drama for his role as Gregory on the sitcom. "Abbott Elementary" is airing its second season, which returned from winter break on Jan. 4. If the hit series lands with as much heart and humor as the writer, producer, and actor's speech, it's guaranteed to be a success this season, too.
