Rihanna sang not one, but two songs at the 2008 VMAs, and for each song she wore a new outfit. Her most inspired look, however, had to be the one she wore on the red carpet. The architectural skirt paired with the black bustier and white pumps stood out amongst the crowd and further solidified Rihanna's stature as a style icon. Since Gwyneth started flashing her pins in super-short dresses paired with fashion-forward, chunky shoes, we've all been wondering how she got her legs looking that good. Now it seems her beauty secrets may be spilled as there are rumours she is planning on releasing a fitness video where she talks candidly about how she stays looking perfect, according to Splash News.
A source said: "Her idea is to show, step by step, what she does every day to stay in shape. There won't be much fancy equipment involved either, because her workout is mostly yoga, some basic Pilates and flexibility, and resistance training."
Like good friend Madonna, Gwyneth has previously talked about how she undergoes a tough, workout session with a personal trainer daily. As one of the ambassadors for Estee Lauder, I'm sure she gets to use a few of their gorgeous leg creams and body lotions too, to keep her skin looking glowing.
Apparently Gwyneth is planning to shoot the video at her estate by the coast, in New York's Amagansett, where she reputedly just had a pilates studio built. So, will she be the next Jane Fonda? Who's to say, but I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to know all her health and beauty secrets. Who wouldn't want those legs, after all?

Wine is definitely my weakness and, even though I've yet to share it with my pooch, I love the idea of this cork-designed placemat ($4.50). It's totally perfect for my wine cellar . . . errrr, I mean kitchen (but a girl can dream). Not only is the matching treat jar super cute, I think this dish mat would look perfect with a Whiner and Diner feeder up top. Is this subtle style perfect for the wine lovers in your life, too?

On the heels of Hurricane Gustav, Hurricanes Ike and Hanna have walloped the Bahamas, Haiti, Turks and Caicos, and Cuba. For the Turks and Caicos, 80 percent of the homes on Grand Turk Island have been damaged. The devastating storm has ripped roofs and left residents cowering in closets, "just holding on for life. They got hit really, really bad."

Hurricane Ike headed toward Haiti en route to the Bahamas and Cuba. The "extremely dangerous" storm is crushing relief efforts to help the hundreds of thousands hit by last week's storms, bringing a foot of rain threatening flash flooding and mudslides.
Hanna lashed the Eastern seaboard over the weekend and her tail end is set to hit as far away as the UK on Thursday, with 100 flood warnings already in place.

Last year was supposed to be the big Britney Spears comeback show at the MTV Video Music Awards — but this year marked Britney's real return. Britney won her first VMA (and, before long, her second and third), taking home the moonmen for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year for "Piece of Me."
Russell Brand hosted the 25th ceremony, which included today's chart-toppers putting their own spins on classic songs (Katy Perry singing a snippet of "Like a Virgin," etc). While Britney was the night's big winner, others who will need to find a space on their shelves for a moonman include Chris Brown, the Pussycat Dolls, and Tokio Hotel. With the recent news that Keira Knightley has been voted 'best pout' in a poll, beating Kylie Minogue and Victoria Beckham to the top spot, I've been thinking about the downside to plumped-up lips; cruelly dubbed the 'trout pout'.
The term was first used in reference to '90's TV actress Leslie Ash who had collagen lip implants in 2003. The procedure went horribly wrong, giving her an unmistakably swollen and misshapen mouth. The British tabloids termed it a 'trout pout' and the phrase caught on, especially as at this time Lesley was on the box regularly, starring in a series of adverts for Homebase with ex-Men Behaving Badly co-star Neil Morrissey.
Leslie told the BBC at the time that she opted to have the lip implants because she wanted "to maintain a certain image...I know I never really needed it doing in other people's eyes, and that's a great compliment." The actress has since undergone corrective surgery, but to little avail.
While collagen implants have certainly come a long way in the last five years, the risk of 'trout pout' or of any aspects of the procedure going wrong, such as having an unexpected allergic reaction, like Leslie did, are still off putting in many people's minds.
The term is now widely used by the media to refer to any star who has had noticeable implants to increase their pout, particularly when the upper lip is boosted out of proportion to the lower lip. Brittany Murphy and Saffron Burrows have both been accused of having trout pouts, while last month French actress Emmanuelle Beart appeared to have gone over the top in having her lips augmented.
