Madrid Gets a Bit More Australian With Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman continues to travel the world with her on and off-screen loves by her side as she promoted Australia in Madrid yesterday and today. The actress glowed in gold and then offset her black dress with white heels as she continues to live up to her character's stylish wardrobe. Both of Nicole's hairdos looked loft and luscious — which of her premiere hairstyles you like best. Yesterday we got to see Sunday and while she may not be your absolute favorite new celebaby, we're excited to see if she grows up to be a spitting image of mama.

You Know You're a Mother When: You Get Sick

The other morning, I pulled my covers over my head — the silent signal to my husband and kids that I was out of commission. Though it only happened a couple times this year, it was awfully hard to stay in bed — especially when I heard a bag of cereal spilling on the kitchen floor and my daughter announce that she washed her hair with hand soap. But, I was more scared of the possibility of falling ill for longer and since my head felt like cement and I was nauseous and dizzy — there was no other option. As a mom, I don't really have time to be sick — there's always a new stack of papers to be signed, a calendar of outings to take and more clutter to clean up. To see what happened, read more

Remember that classic scene in Grease when Jan sings, "Brusha, brusha, brusha. Knock out decay germs fast!" in her most perfect beaver-esque voice? Well, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge, we're doing something a little different.

Instead of makeup, hair products, or zit creams, this time we're talking teeth. Which toothpastes make your teeth sparking clean and which ones leave your pearly whites feeling not so pearly . . . or white?

Just follow the link above and review toothpaste to your heart's delight. I'll feature my favorites here next Tuesday. Oh, and if you're looking to get nostalgic, watch that famous clip from Grease when you read more

What's Up With Sexsomnia?

10 min 8 sec ago by DearSugar
24 Views - 0 comments

I've heard of sleepwalking, but sleep sex? Now that's a new one! It's also referred to as sexomnia and it's classified as a sleep disorder. People that suffer from sexsomnia wake up in the morning and have absolutely no recollection of what happened while they snoozed.

At this time scientists aren't sure what causes sexsomnia, but they think it may have to do with genetics, certain medications, or stress. They do know that sexsomnia rages in severity: some victims just moan and grope while others engage in sexual activity with themselves or with the person in bed with them. Some become violent and dangerous, and may even sexually assault people against their will.

Sexsomnia is a rare disorder, but it's definitely real. It's a type of parasomnia — any behavior typically disrupts sleep. Some examples are talking, walking, eating, or driving in your sleep. Parasomnia is common in kids, but as low as three to six percent of adults continue the behavior. Since sexsomnia is chronic, treatment is essential. Medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes where stress and alcohol are avoided can help prevent episodes.

Pretty interesting, huh? Do you know anyone that's suffered from sexsomnia?

'Wich of the Week: Eggplant Grilled Cheese

When dealing with Thanksgiving leftovers, sandwiches are an obvious choice — and believe me, I consumed my fair share of turkey and stuffing on wheat bread last week. But in a more unexpected repurposing, I also used the breadcrumb mixture leftover from my New Orleans-style baked oyster dish to make this twist on a grilled cheese.

In this case, the "bread" is actually sliced eggplant coated with breadcrumbs, and the cheese is provolone (though mozzarella would also be good with a marinara dipping sauce on the side). I can't say this recipe is any healthier than a typical grilled cheese, since the bread crumb mixture is made with butter, but it is a creative take on a classic for all you grilled cheese fans.

What's cool is that the golden-browned breadcrumbs take on both the look and flavor of grilled, buttered bread, and the skins of the eggplant slices resemble bread crust. The breadcrumb mixture is easy to make, even for a weeknight supper. To get the recipe and step-by-step photos, read more

Recast Meet the Parents and Win a Prize!

39 min 13 sec ago by BuzzSugar

Every other Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!

Since we're coming upon the time of year when lots of folks bring home that special someone to meet the family, I thought the Ben Stiller comedy Meet the Parents would be a fun movie to recast.

Who would you cast as the young couple in love: Male nurse Gaylord "Greg" Focker, and his fiancee Pam Byrnes? Then there's Pam's overprotective father, Jack Byrnes, a retired CIA operative played by an intimidating Robert De Niro. Blythe Danner as Pam's mother, Dina Byrnes, is superbly clueless in the role — who has a similarly sweet, calming manner? And then there's my favorite character to recast, Kevin Rawley (originally played by Owen Wilson), Pam's rich ex-fiance who is really good at woodworking.

Leave your entry in the comment section below, and I'll pick one winner to feature Tuesday, Dec. 9, complete with a "new" cast photo. To see a list of characters to recast and a photo of the BuzzSugar t-shirt, read more

How to Identify Fonts — Even Easier

This isn't the first time I've told you how to identify fonts — What the Font can usually do the trick, but this way is even easier, and more accurate, too. Identifont is a website that identifies fonts — especially the really wily ones, and it's a pretty low-tech approach.

You "describe" what certain letters look like in a font, with their prompts of course, and then Identifont figures out what it is and tells you. You all already know of my love for fonts, so this will just increase my knowledge.
