Christina's Counting Down

Christina Aguilera is clearly not letting her pregnancy slow her down but she looks like she's had enough already. The starlet with super straight hair held her tummy and expressed some frustration while making her way around Hollywood. We love the Lanvin flats she's sporting with those skinny jeans. Christina is due very soon, which could be why she is clutching onto her Blackberry for dear life. She's scheduled for a c-section on Thursday but who knows, her baby might be coming early.

I don´t know you could schedule a c-section. Nice to know.
So she may have her baby by this Thursday, which I´m sure she´ll be relieved after carry that baby bump for months.

I can sooo feel for her. When I was overdue with both of my kids, I was super frustrated, and everything just hurt.
I've heard, she'll get the cesarian because she's afraid of labor and pain =\
Don't people think that a c-section is pain as well, if not, more pain than labor?? The pain of course lasts longer.
I hate that cesarians are trendy, kind of.

Seems like she's been pregnant forever! I can't even think of that many women in hollywood who hasn't had a c-section seems like they all come up with some excuse as to why they just HAD to have it!

so many women have cesarians these days out of choice (whether celebs or not). I wish her and the baby only health, it's her choice.

I like her hairstyle, very cute.

c-sections are something that i don't necessarily understand with celebs. they are sooo focused on their bodies that they would have surgery like that - and end up with a big scar. i don't know.
i can't wait to see what her little baby looks like though!

We don't really know if she is going to have a C-section and if she is we don't know why. So perhaps we shouldn't judge the rightness or wrongness of someone else's medical choices. Good luck to Christina and her family at this exciting time.

A c-section is very painful after you start healing it is major surgery. My sister had an emergency one for her second child and said it was much harder than the first natural birth.

"We don't really know if she is going to have a C-section and if she is we don't know why."

Yup. The fact that when it was first "announced" they included that it may have to be moved up indicates that it is in fact medically indicated and not to avoid labor.

I have a c-section scheduled for 3 weeks from Friday, and I couldn't be happier. I love my c-sections. (Although without medical reason, I wouldn't have them, just to clarify. *lol*)

If a c-section is medically necessary, you HAVE to do it, no question. Noone wants to risks life.
BUT.. A c-section is no way to avoid pain. That is what a lot of women think because they are afraid of the pain of labor. I know that labor hurts a lot, but a c-section is a big surgery, they open your tummy!! Plus, the pain lasts longer and it needs more time to heal. Some women feel dumb around their scar forever, others do have pain whenever the weather is changing.
Of course I wish only the best to Christina.

But, in general, I really think it's sad that women think a c-section is trendy.
And of what celebrity can you think of that didn't chose a c-section ?

The pain is individual - labor and pushing hurt me WAY more than the c-section recoveries ever have.

I do agree that c-sections have become too trendy, though, especially in Hollywood. I just don't like assuming any individual one is or isn't medically necessary.

Jessamyn, Madonna didn't choose a c-section. She labored quite awhile with Lourdes and was unable to progress, so hers was an emergency. There's plenty of others as well, including recent ones like Naomi Watts. Katie Holmes. Gwen Stefani. And so on.

Katie Holmes? I thought she has had a Scientology-birth without making any noises? (I have no idea how this is working, I was screaming like I never screamed before. I bet, everyone in the hospital was able to hear me ;D).

Pushing is hell, I know Sad With my daughter, I had to push 1.5 hours, with my son only 6 times and he was born. Getting the episiotomy was the worst ;D

She did, that's what I mean. She didn't opt to have a c-section to avoid labor. Smiling

katie holmes and leah remini both used scientiology delivery which is like natural but without makin any use(they believe that th noises of Drs and nurses screamin PUSH PUSH and mother screamin will scare the baby and also the 1st thing that da baby should see is her/his father)

Angelina Jolie had a c-section, planned ahead of time if I remember correctly. I have no knowledge of why or anything, I'm just saying she did not go natural.

I'm also sure that Angelina got a c-section because Shiloh was not laying down with her head, she was bottom first, and it is hard to deliver that way without risks.
