According to People, Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn are divorcing. The couple has been together since the early 90s, married for eleven years and have two kids, who are 14 and 16. Their rep confirmed the sad news, but declined to comment any further at this time.
We always hate hearing about longtime couples breaking up, especially when there are children involved. Hopefully the family can keep things civil with the split.

Sad. Unfortunately, I really think Ben and Jen are next to split. Jen is not even wearing her WB anymore and does not look happy or that well lately. Ben seems to be "lost" and pissed off.

There's nothing in the news to suggest that she initiated this break-up. They were together about 17 years so I doubt there were any new personality revelations from either side. Both are pretty decent human beings and have been very nice whenever I or friends have run into them around town doing errands or showing up at events.

This really shocks me to be honest. I mean, the man seems to be permanently grumpy and all but they always seemed to be happy as a couple. I hope that everything does stay amicable for the kids sake. Good luck to them both.

Kinda sad about this , I appreciate Sean's acting - but he's a little wacky/off (Does anyone remember his tirade at the Oscars? Chris Rock was joking man, CHILL!) I thought that atleast he had a wife who completely "GOT" him . guess not so much anymore. Ginger - I think Sean has changed somewhat(in the public eye atleast) - the whole Bush/war thing seems to have completely taken over his life - Don't get me wrong I think people esp in this day and age need to have strong opinions and be able to voice them, but with him, he's almost just become a caricature. IMO.

They split a long time ago there have been rumblings for a year what with his frequen trips to foreign dictatorships, not being seen together much and that trip to save Eve which was a big fat WTF?!

What I loved most was the reason he gave for going to the jail. That he's just a super nice guy who likes to be there for people who might need him. Yeah right. What other foreign dictators has he visited? I know he visited the President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez, but who else?

His father was was Leo Penn, the actor/director who was blacklisted in the 1950s during the era of McCarthyism. Hundreds of writers, actors, producers and others in the entertainment industry were unable to find work for years after being named, whether it was an accusation of being communist, a communism sympathizer, or even just supporting some humanitarian issues.
