What criteria do they use for "worst" autograph signers? Do they not sign autographs or are rude at public functions, or is it based on them being approached in private situations? Because I really don't blame people for refusing autographs when they're trying to have dinner and people walk up to the table, for example.

There are many "professional" autographer seekers that try to make a lame business by selling them on Ebay. They can keep true fans from getting one.

I don't blame people for not signing autographs. It can be pretty shocking how rude your average joe can be.

Sigh.

How/why is Tobey Maguire famous?

I have his autograph. My brother met him at a bar and said he's a nice guy.

..some "fanatics" can get so carried away that i imagine it can be really aggravating at times..

Well my nephew who is 7 years old met him when he was going down the red carpet for the Spiderman 3 premiere in Queens. He shook his hand and came back and talked to him again later and took a pic with him.

So maybe Tobey Maguire doesn't react well when he's approached while on vacation, or with his family having dinner, etc. But in the right environment and situation, where it calls for it, he is very sweet.

I don't think celebs should be available 24/7 to the public..they are human beings that want to live their lives as well.

jmast and greggie , I agree, they cannot be expected to sign autographs all the time, so he just probably gets a bit snippy about it, who can blame him esp when he might just want to hang out with his fam!

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Celebrities are not a toy.. They are real people.. and I wouldn't want to give anyone my autograph after being constantly harassed and stalked..

I especially wouldn't want to give my autograph to some jackass who's just going to turn around and sell it.. it's just ridiculous..

Jmast, the episode where he hits the fan's camera (making it fall) happened while he was working to promote Spiderman 3. Ok, he was not exactly in the red carpet, he seemed to be leaving the hotel to be interviewed somewhere near. But he was working, so he should have been more polite, or at least a little more patient. I personally think that famous people are just like anyone else, but they must understand there are people who love them and that time they approach for an autograph or picture may be inopportune but it's probably the only time they will ever meet them.

I remember that episode Eve,but I think he apologised to that guy later ,he was pissed because that guy took a pic a bit too closely, actually he seems very normal to me, even more boring than Ben Affleck , sorry to all Affleck lovers here

I thought he is odd looking.He has nice big blue eyes though.I like "boring" actors.They don't have to make a spectacle of themselves to be famous and be talked about or attend all these Hollywood parties just to be out there.
