Why-oh-why, if your daughter is in trouble would you allow a personal letter to be publicized like that? (I get it - I'm all up in the biz, too) but second-hand fame is tiresome, especially when it's via a family member's self-detruction.

I wonder about Amy's mom motives...to pen such a public letter, it's not like the world does not already know that Amy has a drug dependency problem...does she believe that Amy would respond by immediately committing herself to rehab....more likely she will view this as a betrayal

Amy's mom didnt have to make the letter public... If she really wants her daughter to get better go talk to her yourself not involve more publicity.

Im a HUGE fan of Amy Winehouse. Her voice is incredible and she has huge potential.

She totally needs rehab, but it feels like another Janis Joplin in the works...sad.

    What a waste of talent...

Maybe she wrote the letter so that people won't say "why isn't her mother helping her". She's publicly stating she's concerned.
