Stuff like this sets women back by decades. What is this? 7th grade? Star is being immature, but hey, she got canned and she still had to continoue until her contract was up. It's like knowing you're going to be out of a job in a few weeks/months and your boss expecting you to be a diligent worker. People just don't really do that most of the time.

As for Barbara, I used to admire her so much when she was on 20/20. The fact that she allowed this show to turn into a soap opera rather than a real talk show. People don't talk about the guests that come on. It's a surprise that people even agree to appear on the show. The only thing that anyone talks about is the cattiness. I have ZERO respect for Barbara any more. She might as well be Jerry Springer.

Why do they have to yell? i try to watch and end of up turning the channel cause I cannot stand their constant talking over each other, and who the hell is the young skinny blonde fool, what a waste of space. I prefered Star when she was bigger, she was calmer and nicer, now she just needs a good steak! Roll on Rosie!

It was NOT cool Star saying she felt fired. By then again, Star isn't exactly known for her tact. Let's face it...just how many people do have job security? She was on the show for like 9 years. It was Barbara Walters who gave her this big opportunity, she needs to be grateful for getting the job to begin with. Barbara has LOTS of clout in her circles, and Star is making a huge error in judgement by making callous comments like that.

miss walters is evil anyway so i would support anything that would be against her. just look at how she carries herself and treats the younger co-hosts from the show in the past. she's full of herself and has no class at all.

Star did herself in when she asked for the freebies for her wedding! Hello? Then she loses all of the weight. If she had just been a friend to the audience and said this is what I did and why I did it then she would have scored alot more points. She was not drawing in enough viewers so she got canned. It's all a numbers game. If she had the numbers she would have stayed, Now that she crossed Barbara she will never see the light of television in this country so she and Big Al might as well pack it up and go live abroad.

Barbara Walters went from being a top journalist and certainly THE top female journalist in this country to bickering about whether Hefner is a "dirty old man"....in front of Hef and his 3 girlfriends.
Star is no gem. I don't watch the show at all anymore, but in terms of who is qualified in every way to be on there, none of them are. They are all very petty. Elizabeth can't even support any of her arguments and she's supposed to be the "young voice" as well as the "conservative voice" of the show; well, if she's representative of these group, conservatives and young women are in a lot of trouble.
Joy is rude. The odd thing is that I generally agree with her opinions more yet the way she talks to people and treats some guests just tells me she's a bad person.
Barbara must have had brain damage. The only one I would expect excellence from is a complete joke. I'm sure Meredith is enjoying her new work environment far more.

We don't get the View here in the UK but we have an equilvent....4 has beens giving their opinions on issues with so much self-imporance. I have watched the View a few times when I am in the states and they all seem to really hate each other, always trying to out do each other....just like school for the fight to be the top girl.

Ethiopian - I couldn't agree with you more! Barbara has allowed this show to turn into a circus and now with the addition of Rosie, it's only going to get worse. I can only take so much of Joy yelling over everyone - but with Star gone, I have a feeling Rosie will be competing with Joy for the laughs. I'm tired of Barbara allowing these Jerry Springer type guest on and then trying to act like she is above them. I hate to say it, but I think this show has set women back about 20 years.

P.S. Does anyone else think Star looks like a turtle since she has lot the weight?

I just read that on PEOPLE.COM that ABC asked Star not to come back to the show so yesterday was really her last day!! Damn im watching the View today!! LOL

It comes on at 11:00 eastern time. I thought it was hilarious yesterday when Joy told Star, "I used to like you before you became a skinny bi**h and deserted all of us chubby people!" She said it while laughing, but you know she really meant it. There was a lot of tension, and it was really awkward the way they all pretended to be surprised, and Barbara was pissed!

hmm, maybe they weren't pretending to be surprised, if they knew she was leaving, but she wasn't supposed to announce it yet. star is a b*tch, but so are all of the rest of thoes chicks, and no one else is being ganged up on. i feel sorry for her even though i think she's arrogant. i don't think she talks any more about her life than kelly ripa, or someone, but the fact is no one wants to hear about star. i actually think she really was bringing in viewers, even if only for the controversy. she wouldn't have received all of those sponsorships and that wedding if the networks didn't think people would watch it. no difference between that garbage and trista and ryan.
either way, to fire someone and expect them to sit there and keep quiet about it, at your convenience, is pretty unrealistic. i don't know why i care about this so much. i think maybe star is being portrayed as more of a b*tch than need be. she stands up for herself and the things she believes in, but so do all of them.

I can't believe thats Elisabeth from Survivor, I did not make that connection. Last time I watched, I was like who is that girl, and why can't they find a young woman with a brain.
I think Barbara has a little reason to have an ego, she's accomplished alot in her career, alot of in a time when women weren't accepted in her field. I can respect that, even tho she irritates me at times.

This should be very entertaining!!!! I give the show three to four months at the most-then it's history. They all need to move on -Barbara is too old and arrogant. She's just a real snob. I just saw the announcement of Star is gone, and BW basically said that she was fired months ago but they wanted to give her time to get another job and she decided to announce it yesterday so they decided to let her go early, lol, I know is bad but I'm so happy !!!
