Drew Barrymore looked pouty but pretty in her fab 40s era outfit around the set of Grey Gardens in Toronto yesterday. From period piece to her gorgeous Gucci ads, we've been seeing all sorts of sides of flower child Drew. Last time we saw Drew on the set she was in all white and we're excited to see the rest of the ladies in their fabulous wardrobes, especially now that Jeanne Tripplehorn has signed on as the role of Jackie O in the film.

I still think Drew Barrymore playing Little Edie is ridiculous. I just tried to watch Music and Lyrics and couldn't finish it because it was so bad. She will butcher this amazing part!

Somethings just sooo wrong on these pictures, her waist looks so narrow and her hips are just whoa.. that is definitely a bad skirt she has on.

Of course who says she can't act is pretty ignorant. Obviously you haven't seen Mad Love, Amy Fisher, Boys on the Side, Doppelganger, Riding in Cars With Boys or any other of her old movies. That's sad read some comments like that, seeing too much ignorance.

"Of course who says she can't act is pretty ignorant"

Pretty catty. (Insert hissing noises here). Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and there is no need to make personal attacks.

That said, yes I HAVE seen those movies...and I still think she is a bad actress. Also, if you have to go back that far to find an example of her great acting, maybe there is a little bit of nostalgia mixed in there that is clouding your judgement.

Actually I don't think she's a bad actress playing her romantic comedies roles. BUT I just said "older movies" because she has done a lot of dramas in the past and really good ones. And because nowadays, people have a "bit" of prejudice about actors who does a lot of comedies. Good actors are the serious, who only play in dramas and always go nominated. Alright, I think it's ridiculous. And I actually don't believe you have watched those movies, but that's ok. Smiling

You dont think I have seen those movies? Hmmm....odd. I don't know what in the world you base that on, but you are welcome to your opinion no matter how misguided it might be.

"people have a "bit" of prejudice about actors who does a lot of comedies. Good actors are the serious, who only play in dramas always go nominated. Alright, I think it's ridiculous"

Now this, I agree with. Some of the best actors are mostly in comedies, and some dramatic Oscar winners can't do comedy even remotely well. It takes a lot of skill to hit the right beats in comedy and let the joke sing. Something that might make you happy is that Amy Adams is getting a lot of Oscar buzz for her soon to be released "Enchanted". The Hollywood Reporter predicted that she would be nominated over drama queens like Keira Knightly.

Anyone who has seen or knows anything about Little Edie would know that a movie about her life is the LAST thing she ever wanted.
So sad that these "artist" pay no attention to the roles they play.

The costumes look amazing and accurate to the period. I hate to admit that great costumes can draw me into the theater. And I love 'Big Love' so I'm stoked to see that Jeanne will be playing Jackie and I think she will do well in the role. You never know, maybe this will be fab and if it isn't, I'll be happy to check out the great costume work.

The clothes in this movie are so fabulous! I think it's going to be a very visually stimulating movie.

i do love her death but sometimes i think she went to the keanu reeves school of acting "like wherefore art thou or whatever"

I kinda agree with carolx15 because I've seen Mad Love, Amy fisher, Poison Ivy and Riding in cars and I think Drew was great in those movies. (I actually don't know what in the world made Jillness think she was bad in those movies - seems like she haven't seen them). I don't like her romantic comedies either (except for 50 First Dates, what I think it's a really cute and funny movie and her act was very convincing). I haven't liked her movies lately but I don't think she's a bad actress. Her acting is very convincing, even when she's in a bad movie, with bad scripts. I think she needs more serious roles.

And you know what's ridiculous? Is ridiculous to see people commenting about a movie who they didn't even watch yet. Do not criticize a movie before watch it. That's so wrong.

i was really hesitant about this project when i first heard about it but i think that miss barrymore clearly cares enough about the subject to try and do it justice.
and the casting of jeanne tripplehorn is super promising, too.
    hmmm....
