Victoria Reveals Romeo Has Epilepsy

We had seen the Beckhams make multiple hospital trips but not until now do we know the real reason why. The rumors about Romeo can be put to rest since Victoria supposedly admitted the news in order to keep her son safe from the photographers' flashbulbs. Romeo has epilepsy and it's so serious he's been rushed to the hospital four times in the last three years. He's being treated but even with the drugs, flash photography can still cause a seizure. Victoria admitted to Romeo's condition when the paparazzi started aggressively taking the boy's picture. Here's more:

The frightened youngster reacted violently after being photographed at Heathrow last Saturday as he returned to Britain from Madrid with Posh and brothers Brooklyn, seven, and Cruz, one. Initially he shielded his eyes against the flashes as his mother pushed him through the terminal building in his buggy and out to a waiting car.

He then started screaming in terror and lashing out with his legs as one photographer pressed his camera inside the car and started flashing. Only then did horrified Posh, 32, reveal the truth about brave Romeo's dangerous condition. She pulled her blond-headed son to her, shielded him from the lights and yelled: "Leave him alone. He's got epilepsy. All that flashing will start an epileptic fit. You can't do that!"

Kevin Smith — owner of Splash news, the agency that took the shot —said: "No picture is worth putting a child's life in danger. Now that we know Romeo has epilepsy I will not be authorising any of my photographers to take flash pictures of him. I think this is absolutely the right thing to do and I hope other agencies follow suit."

We like when the agencies realize there is no reason to put these folks in danger - especially the kids. Let's hope other photo agencies leave little Romeo alone also.

that poor kid. And for it to be completely avoidable for a normal person. I really hope they do leave him alone. They shouldnt even be taking pictures of the celebrities kids in my opinion.

Well, it is good that Splash News has spoken up. It's such a pity.

Maybe they should all be leaving the celebs kids ALONE in the first place. The kids didn't ask for this. As much as Posh gives me a headache, she is CLEARLY a good mother and clearly puts the needs of her kids first. I think that's part of the reason why she plays so nice with the paps and the rags - when she needs to call in a favor to protect her kids, she does it. And that's a good thing.

I agree w/ Pad...kids should be left the hell alone. I'm the 1st to admit that I love celebs baby pics & all, but things like shoving a camera in the car is pretty scary for a litte kid

It didn't use to be acceptable to take shots of kids.. now anything goes.. which sucks..greedy photo bastards..

good for this agency, but will others suddenly grow a conscience too? after Dianan died did they curb their tendancies at all? Seems like it has only become worse.

That is so sad...there is absolutely NO excuse for paparazzi to take pics of celeb's children!!! Kids should not be subjected to that non-sense its in-humane and totally un-healthy!

This is just one example on how society lacks concern for the well-being of others...its so shameful and totally disgusting that A CHILD has to be placed in this situation!

they need to start suing the pants off the papas, them and all the other celebs, till the paps finally get it, and maybe start a group to pass some laws so they can protect their families, i would just like to see something done, the paps are just plain cruel in my eyes. or maybe the could hire people to harass their families back and give them a dose of their own medicine.
