More drama from the set of Grey's Anatomy. It seem as if this show has as much going on behind the scenes as it does on screen. The latest in trying to learn more about why Isaiah lashed out at Patrick last week is US Weekly's cover story. Sources are saying Isaiah has a lot of built up resentment for Patrick. After all, they did both go for the part of Dr. McDreamy and now Patrick is landing all those magazine covers. Perhaps the feud is all a bit of jealousy. And to top it off, this is not the first time Isaiah has got into a fight on set. US Weekly reports:

“There was lingering resentment between Patrick and Isaiah before this happened,” says a set source. “It seems like Isaiah is pissed that he doesn’t get the same attention Patrick does.”

Another source of on-set tension? “Everyone on-set is intimidated by Isaiah,” says one source familiar with the day-to-day of shooting. “He’s not approachable and doesn’t chat with the cast or crew unless they’re addressing him.” “Isaiah is all about ego,” says another cast confidant. “His attitude is, ‘I’m a star. I should get all the attention.’ Few on that set like him.”

While filming the 2000 movie Dancing in September, a woman on-set says the actor made a sexist remark that made her cry. “I did nothing to deserve that,” she tells Us. Washington allegedly acted aggressively with a female costar during a scene for Soul Food in 2000, according to TMZ.com. Though he had no comment on the incident, Soul Food exec producer/writer Kevin Arkadie tells Us, “He’s mercurial…We had to have a conference now and then.”

And now Isaiah has issued an apology for the Grey's fight. He said, "I sincerely regret my actions and the unfortunate use of words during the recent incident on-set. Both are beneath my own personal standards. … I have nothing but respect for my coworkers … and have apologized personally to everyone involved."

I am sure we have ALL said something we regret. I say everyone just drop the subject. It isn't like he murdered anyone! GEESH. Enough of this story already! I am not saying what he did or said was right but really..is this worth all of the attention it is getting?

Alison, that would be the desired method of maintaining some semblance of peace on the set, but this guy seems like he's got a chip on his shoulder & goes out of his way to be an asshead to everyone. Sure, we've all said dumb sh-t but we don't push the envelope. He's making the entire cast uncomfortable (not to mention this fight was not just solely words, he became physical, as well). Sooner or later, "just dropping it" becomes more difficult to do.

ok just out of curiousity why didnt he get such a backlash for calling t r knight a f@ggot because of his sexual orientation as mel did for his derogatory comments...AND it didnt seem as though isiah was drunk so he was sober and completely disrespectful. not that being drunk is an excuse please dont get me wrong. is it ok to make fun of gay people but not ok to make fun of jewish people or be cruel to either. i am sorry but i dont understand why its acceptable to mock or be nasty to someone because of who they love but not ok to mock due to religion or race....sorry if im not wording this correctly. im just so confused as to why making fun and saying nasty things doesnt always get the same focus...it should be wrong to have such hateful things to say about anybody no matter who they love or what they believe.

Pink Angel Monkey- i agree with you sincerely. I honestly think its more acceptable to be anti-gay then anti-jew. Also-- hollywood is controlled by Jews not Gays. jk

Well, I take what Us magazine reports with a grain of salt. Again, always citing "sources". However, if you read the latest artcile on People's site, they actually quote the actors and actresses and the show's creator.

I don't know, I love the pics Us Magazine gets but People usually is more true when it comes to the stories. That's just my opinion.

I hate to say this, but what do you think would be going on if the situation were flipped and someone on set had made reference to Isaiah Washington's skin color or ethnicity? Personally, I think his a** should be fired. What he said was hateful and just plain wrong.

Sasha - we kept getting the seasons discs through our Blockbuster membership and we just watched them one after another! We were hooked too!

We also did that with Sopranos, even though we saw all of the episodes throughout the years... very fun.

In response to the first comment, Grey's Anatomy has enough ratings and is doing amazing without the drama, so this isn't to "drum up ratings." It beat Desperate Housewives in ratings before and it recently kicked CSI's ass in the ratings, too. It's a very popular show even if some people don't like it.

And in response to the article, he should realize he's on an amazing and popular show, and that he is thought of as sexy even if he's NOT Dr. McDreamy. He needs to appreciate what he's got, because most aspiring actors/actresses (like myself) only dream of being that famous.

Hi. I understand your side, Toronado, and I don't even know this person in real life. I was just saying that the media takes something and blows it into unreal proportions. Also, the main thing is that he DID apologize to all involved and if they accepted his apology and are willing to move on then so be it. I am just saying I feel this story has been going on and on and on and enough already.

Alisun- i just dont get why the public backlash against it wasnt as bad or crazy as mel's drunken rants! I totally think its a double standard bc of the fact he is gay-bashing and not something less "socially acceptable".... disgusting.

Lauren, the backlash from Mel's incident was worse. I've seen waaaaay more articles about that than with Isaiah. For a little while there, CNN had Mel stories on their site for days in a row. And Isaiah has yet to have a bumper sticker made for him like Mel did, LOL

IW has become notorious for his attitude and his treatment of others. He even made it onto a "Watch with Kristin" blind vice (that was later revealed) b/c he made an E! producer cry when they were trying to interview him.

So even if he does apologize for this one thing (which I'm sure he's doing b/c of the negative press he's getting and the small backlash), he has continued to act this way and make hurtful comments. It's not a sole incident. To me, that doesn't say, 'Let's forget it and move on;' it says two words: 'anger management.'

His comments about gay people were totally uncalled for, he basically outted a man that did not make the decision for himself, and he ASSAULTED his co worker, by choking him.

Im sorry, but that is real life drama, and I do think we will be seeing a new Dr. Burke very soon, this guy is pretty much done.

Exactly! I feel sorry that T.R had to go around saying " Yes I am gay" just because of all the rumors follwing Isiah's fight with McDreamy when it's not our business whether he is gay or not. Isaiah has acted completely out of line in a number of different ways, and apparently, several different times too.

I gotta say, I don't understand what the big deal is with Patrick Dempsey. Sure he's cute but he's not that dreamy. I think Isaish is a helluva lot cuter. But hey, that's just my opinion I guess.

I too wonder about the lack of backlash--maybe because the cast of GA isn't well known? The show's popularity is based around the show and not the actors? I find this incident bizarre and random--not to mention the randomness of T.R. Knight coming out when no one even speculated about his sexuality. Just bizarre...
