Avril totally ripped off that song. They are way too similar for it to be an accident. And since she already has another writer claiming that she repeatedly steals from others, this isn't really a shock. I wonder if any other lawsuits will follow from other writers.

I can't stand Nelly. She had to make some comment at the Grammys (which are a joke I won't even get into) about how she wasn't a new artist and she's been working hard for a long time. Yeah, Avril copped the opening drum riff and the hook. Just because the band she swiped it from wasn't all that well known doesn't mean she didn't lift stuff from the song. She (or her real songwriter) ABSOLUTELY did.

Does anyone remember when "The Party" (the band made up of members from the 90's Mickey Mouse Cluc, or "MMC") covered the song I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend? I had it on a mix tape with Mariah Carey, Brandy and the Beach Boys that I got for my 10th birthday, haha. I haven't been able to find it on the internet, but it's even easier to tell the similarities with the Avril song.

Good for Kate and William. I've always liked her, but then I tend to root for the people who get a lot of crap from the press and public.
