I'm Mad at Keri Russell

Seriously the woman had a kid 2 weeks ago and she's out and about in NYC looking fit and fabulous like nothing ever happened. She is clearly back in her normal clothes and she's wrapped up River Russell Deary to schlep him along to run errands. She was seen shopping at Whole Foods and dragging her laundry across town. How normal of her. Makes me want to like her again and then I look at her post-pregnancy body. Not fair. Period. Oh by the way, enjoy the first pics of River although we obviously hope to get better ones soon. No but really, good for Keri! She looks amazing!

It takes time for new moms to balance their weight after giving birth. In fact, some end up too skinny so maybe she should read this. For more pics of Keri and baby River just read more

WOW...is the only thing that comes to my mind!
She looks totally awsome. But she didn't gain too much weight to begin with? right?
And sibalc i think that the angle of the pic makes you think that the baby is uncomfortable.I'm sure he's fine.

She looks good, but it's not that amazing to me. Celebs always look good 2 weeks later.

i agree, she looks great! but yeah, what's up with the hippie baby sling? it looks uncomfy for both parties involved. (not to mention unsafe. but maybe i'm un-old-fashioned.)

I'm soo jealous! She's so lucky!

What's up with these sling baby carriers? I see a lot of stars sporting it but isn't it bad for the baby with their bones so soft and all..

Actually I was the same when I delivered my daughter.
I got out the hospital in a slim jeans when I wore before pregnant.
All of my friends and nurses suprised at me, but i think that simply because I was young then.
I had my daughter aged 20!

She looks great! But she didn't gain much weight during her pregnancy, did she?

And those baby slings are great - as long as they're tied in the right way. The baby's comfortable in there, and near the mommy. Or daddy Smiling

I'm not sure what's more exciting, seeing Keri out with little River for the first time or seeing Keri toting her laundry around town. How cool is it that she lives a pretty normal life and goes to do her laundry somewhere? Says a lot about how unpretentious her home must be if they don't have a washer and dryer! I've always liked her, but she scored major points here!!! And congrats on the little peanut. She's radiant even after giving birth!

Looking good but I would never put my baby into one of those slings. The just look flimsy and uncomortable the way it looks curved disturbs me.

Lucky her. I know when I have a kid, I'll be plump for the rest of my life. I never loose weight but I gain it so easy.

she looks wonderful & her aby looks snuggly, I loved those after I had my son...my only concern is tht she shouldn't be walking around too much, she should be taking it easy, maybe I'm thinking differently b/c I had a c-section

She is probably getting back to her old body by doing just what she is shown here- actually going out and doing things instead of sitting around with the baby. Helps to get out. Good for her.

CatarinaBella, I had a C-section and was out of the hospital the next day. 5 days later I was good as new and fit as a fiddle. So Im not surpriced to see her out and about.

I like the name River, that´s not new - what about River Phoenix Smiling

Keri looks great and good for her to go about her business!

Baby slings are safe. They're designed to hold babies up to toddlers.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_sling

And if you've had a vaginal birth, you can be up and walking right away. The thing you're not supposed to do is to start with heavy duty exercising or straining for the first 6 weeks. That's what gets me about some of these celeb mothers, they're hitting the gym and doing all that heavy ab stress stuff right away. They may think they're fine now, but wait down the line when they have adhesions and other problems inside.

Baby slings ROCK!!!!! You have no idea until you try one. And the kids are TOTALLY safe and soooooo happy in there. That is the exact correct positioning for a newborn. It changes based on their age. I'm so proud of her for wearing her baby! That's awesome.

And that's great that she's out and about. It makes the transition to motherhood so much easier if you don't stay holed up in your apt./house.
I remember when I only had one. Life was so easy LOL

I think she looks amazing! I'm so envious.

As for the sling, it might look comfortable and be good for them, but it still just looks flimsy to me! That, and I'm a klutz - baby would be flying!

I don't care wher I live butI'm gonna carry my baby the African way on my back. It just seems much more comfortable and you are free to do housework, shop and everything.

wow Floral, they kept me in the hopsital for 4 days, I thought that was standard procedure, he was born on 10/23 so 10/31 I dressed him up and went to the "grandmas" houses to show him off and the next day had abdominal pains and an admonishment from my dr. I guess it's different for everyone

I was back in my regular jeans in a week. I only gained weight in my stomach. She didn't seem to gain much weight to begin with, so her 2 week post baby body looks normal to me.

good god she looks amazing! it gives me hope lol. i love the sling idea, and i'm sure it's safe as long as it's tied correctly and baby is in the right position. no need to wrestle with mongo strollers everywhere you go, what a relief.
i think i would do that and/or the baby back pack -- hands free motherhood lol.

I like to believe she's wearing a girdle/duct tape contraption under her clothes to pull it off. Sorry, but it makes me feel better. Evil
