Paris Gets Visitors, Someone Wants Her Back in Jail

Phew, it's been quite the day of Paris. From learning the surprising news that she was released from jail early this morning, to hearing the press conference about it, to getting a lovely statement from Paris herself, there's been no escaping the story. So here's an update.

You'll be happy to hear (heh, maybe) that Paris has received her first visitors to her house arrest -- her parents, Rick & Kathy Hilton. According to Extra they're "very happy" and "glad to have her home." I assume her friends will start filing in to hang out at chez Paris tonight.

Not everyone is as happy as the Hiltons, however. City Attorney Rick Delgado released a (lengthy) statement about the situation. Here's an excerpt:

Today I was extremely troubled to learn that the Sheriff's Department has decided to release Ms. Hilton from custody just three days after she was admitted to county jail.

My office was not advised of this action. We learned of it this morning through news reports, just like everyone else. Had we been provided with the proper notification, we would have opposed the decision on legal grounds.

Now we've learned that Delgado has filed an official motion for Paris to return to jail and finish out her sentence. Well, someone wants attention. Whatever happens with Paris from here, it sounds like it won't be boring!

She was released because it was causing her stress and emotional trauma and she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown? Well, doesn't that describe any woman who would be thrown in jail for the first time? I know it would be causing me a bit of emotional stress. I would probably be in tears the entire time? Do you think they would let me out? No....I'm not a Hilton.

it doesn't sound like the DA wants attention, it sounds like he has his head screwed on straight and is actually (gasp!) doing his job.

she broke the law and deserves to finish her sentence in JAIL... I mean seriously, Being confined to her mansion isn't exactly punishment... hell I wish I could get sentenced to paris' house, assuming I'd be properly vaccinated and pumped up on antibiotics before hand...

I am so glad someone is stopping the madness! That was the first thing I wondered about when I heard she got out today- didn't the judge order no house arrest? Awesome.

Paris needs to go back to jail. Just because she's "famous" doesn't mean that she should get special treatment.

She's been ordered to appear in court at 9am tomorrow, according to a new AP report. She's appearing before the judge that sentenced her to begin with. Let's hope they throw her ass back in!

It was a judge that sentenced her to jail and NOT ELECTRONIC MONITORING. They didn't go to the judge to overturn it. What happened to the justice system-shouldn't the judge been consulted?

I agree sofi! This case seems like a symptom of greater problems in our legal system.

How can they violate a judgement without consulting the judge or prosecutor of the case? How can they violate a specific term of the agreement without notifying the deciding judge? Very odd.

This is the worse i ever saw her...she looks sickly! i now see that she has her daily tans normally, jail or not she looks gross, should get her back to jail though so she really get the point and feel the consequences which hopefully will be dramatic for her and she wont do those stupid non-thinking things again. Laughing out loud quite tired of seeing Paris = Negative news.
    Sad

She has the NERVE to order cupcakes hand delivered to her house while paps film and take pics of it. Its like sending the message: "Look everyone, I only have to serve 3 days for drunk driving and now I can have my vacation at home and eat cupcakes to celebrate!"

I totally agree that this isn't a case of the DA wanting attention, how ridiculous! It's more a case of someone actually doing the right thing, attention or not.

She needs to go back to jail! Not to be mean to Paris but she is making a mockery of our judicial system, right I know it doesn't need help. I'm glad that money and lying and "favors" aren't winning everyone over. She needs to take complete responsibility for her actions and do as the judge says... serve your time for being a menace to society.

lickety split, I just saw that too! As a Paris fan, I'm glad that she's ordered back in prison. I still think that within the next 2.5 weeks, she'll be out of jail. Sounds doubtful now since her getting out of jail seemed to be some sort of procedural breach(had to have been if both the DA and the presiding judge were not notified of the intent to release her after 3 days.). I just hope she serves most of her sentence though and if she is let out early, that proper protocol is followed(meaning that both the presiding judge and the DA were notified, etc.), and that maybe she learns something from this whole ordeal.

"someone wants attention"? Pretty ignorant statement there. How about: someone wants a judge's ruling to be upheld and our legal system to not be made a joke of? Or maybe: someone's doing his job?

I agree with Delgado. I disagree that he wants attention, he wants justice. Isn't the whole idea of jail is that it is NOT fun?? For god's sake, anyone else would have been told too bad, she already had it a lot easier than other prisoners with her own cell. I hope she realises that drink driving can lead to the death or disfiguration of yourself as well as innocent vistims, although I seriously doubt if she's capable of understanding that, obvisously losing her license because of it didn't teach her anything. So poor Paris gets to lay around in her flash mansion, yeah thats punishment

The city attorney doesn't "want attention". He wants the sentence the judge ordered carried out. The jusge expressly said "no house arrest" and there's the brat at home with her Egyptian Cotton sheets and her hand delivered cupcakes. It's a travesty.

The only one who's using this for attention is Paris. She's sick. Not nervous breakdown sick, megalomaniac crazy narcisist (sp?) sick.

The only person/people that want attention was the sheriff's department that defied a judge's order, the law, and went and made a deal to further his own career. The prosecutor is only doing his job as well as upholding the law.

CNN is reporting that they have received OVER 3,000 emails expressing DISGUST for Paris and her behavior. The CA justice system has been a joke since the OJ trial and they just keep making it worse by treating celebrities like they are gods.

It's shocking that there could be anyone out there who could defend this complete WASTE of human life. She hasn't learned anything except that she can get out of everything.

Angry Mob And here I thought we were coming up on at least a FEW Paris free weeks. Dern. It's been more Paris than ever lately.

I really don't understand how a sherriff gets to commute a prisoner's sentence. Just because they run the jail, they get to determine sentences? Why bother having judges!?!?
