Paris is Free!! Let Out of Jail After Only 3 Days!!

Early this morning Paris Hilton was released from jail after serving only 3 of her 23 day sentence. According to TMZ, the deal was finalized yesterday and the LA County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference to discuss the release sometime this morning. She checked herself into the facility on Sunday evening, two days before she was mandated. Stay tuned for updates...

Update: The press conference is going on now. According to LA Sheriff Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore, Paris will be confined to her home for the next 40 days. She will be forced to wear an ankle bracelet, similar to the one Martha Stewart wore during her house arrest. Apparently the decision was made based on discussions with her medical staff, but the spokesperson would not discuss the medical issue "due to confidentiality." My assumption is it has something to do with her mental state, as her psychiatrist was in to visit her every day.

I can't honestly say I'm surprised...We all knew she was going to get treated differently that most ordinary tax-paying citizens... At least now she can go promote the Simple Life with Nicole (who also won't be serving jail time..)...Sigh*

What a bunch of bullsh*t. If she was anyone but a celebrity, she would be serving the whole 45 days. Five bucks says she gets another DUI within 6 months.

I'm sure she checked herself in early because she knew that she'd only have to be in jail for a few days. UGH! I could just scream.

Just out of curiosity, how can you serve 3 DAYS for something that was originally supposed to be 40-couple days? Puzzled

Disgusted and disappointed at our leagal system that has once again sent the wrong message to her and all of the misguided people who idolize her and see her as a role model. But not suprised. And I doubt she learned anything except that once again her useless talentless rich ass can get special treatment.

o yea that's totally fair.. or not! what happened to the 'she will serve her full sentence less the time for good behavior'? i doubt the 3 days was enough to humble her!

I can not believe that she got out this early. I am pretty sure this is true news. It was just on a few legit news sites.

Well at least they made her actually spend the time in jail. She deserved the sentence.

WHAT?!?! Angry Mob What a huge steaming pile of bullsh*t this is. She's going to learn NOTHING from this. NOTHING. I'll bet you anything she gets arrested again within the year.

Man. Our legal system is a travesty. Words cannot express how appalled and disappointed I am.

To be honest i expected them to release her a few hours after she checked in so i'm not at all shocked by this--she has money---this was a wasted exercise, i can't see how this was an effective punishment or see how she learnt anything from this.......... a sad day for everyone Sad

this is a total let down for the u.s. law system - it would have been better if she never went into jail (my opinion), but letting her out after three days is just wrong

what makes it even more absurd is that she got good behaviour even BEFORE she went in to jail. they reduced her sentence because she showed up to her sentencing. um...wait a minute, you're SUPPOSED to do that. oh and she showed up late which again, apparently is still OK! and then after assuring everyone that she would definitely serve ALL of the reduced sentence she gets out???? that is ridiculous.

i am sure there will be some b.s reason. but i mean the girl was supposed to be in isolation- or whatever for her safety. all those rumors about her psychiatrist visiting her... i bet they cooked up some reason!

and you know, i was even kind of feeling bad for her. i mean, solitary confinement is actually worse than having a cellmate. at least with a cellmate you can talk to someone to make the time pass. but to be alone 24/7??? that's rough. now i just want to throw a pie in her face.

I thought they would make her do a full week. The annoying thing is she is going to capitalize on this for ages, lamenting her time in jail, acting like she's a good citizen for "doing the time" when she barely did it and gaining sympathy. She is such a waste and is it just me or did young hollywood women really going down and acting skanky and drug addicted and not even trying to hide it coincide with her becoming famous?
