Sarah Jessica's Still Lovely

SJP was helping kick off fashion week by promoting her perfume, Lovely at Lord & Taylor. However, the famous fashionista won't be hitting any shows during fashion week. She is too busy with her men to be able to go. She said,

"I don't have time. My son starts school this week and I have to take him every day," Parker told Reuters in an interview, talking about her 3-year-old son James with actor husband Matthew Broderick.

Broderick, 44, broke his collarbone recently in a riding accident while on vacation in Ireland.

"He's OK but he is (without) one arm. It's hard to get my son dressed and out of the door ... so I have a great excuse not to attend any fashion shows."

I wonder what Carrie Bradshaw would think of that. Lots more pics of SJP promoting Lovely so read more

I've never really gotten into SJP. I like her on Sex and the City, but that's about it. She's not pretty at all to me! Sad

Jen76, I always wonder with celebs if it's actually preschool though. I always think that they have these special schools were their kids can go so they're free to explore celebrityville...like an all day "preschool". If so, I'd like to be a celebrity wh*re...LOL!
I think Jessica looks lovely here. Love the outfit and I've always liked the fact that she's not typical Hollywood gorgessity. I really don't like her husband though, but that's a whole other story.

i love sjp. and i love the outfit. and i don't have a problem with 3 year-olds in school. however, her comment about how dropping her kid off at school everyday keeps her so busy she can't attend fashion week does make me wonder how the average joe and jane manage to raise kids while working full-time jobs?

She is a working mom so putting her kid in pre-school at 3 years old should be ok non?

Even non working mom can put there three year olds in preschool. At that age it's mostly about learning social skills than actual learning. While they do teach the main point is to get kids adjusted to being away from mommy, meeting a diverse group of kids, and learning to interact. I think it's pretty healthy for a child to go to preschool most times it's only for a few hours a day

Sorry SJP lovers love the dress but she is fug. She looks like an eagle she coulda got a better nose job but she didn't have that much money back then so I guess she got the clearance sale nose job

I'm an at home mom, but both of my sons started preschool at 3. My youngest is in it now and goes 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. It's great for him - he gets socialization, and he's learning to learn in a school environment (not to mention time away from me since he's glued to my hip otherwise). Those are things I can't give him enough of at home.

    I love that dress!

jaxon - i'd argue that her nose adds character to her face. i agree that she is not a classic beauty but watching satc i am always amazed how much presence she has. michael patrick king said once that "the camera just loves her" and i agree - you don't need to have the perfect looks to be a perfect actress (example nicole kidman who i am sure got the deluxe nose job and now can't move her botoxed face enough to convincingly portray any kind of emotion on screen).

Margaretha I agree...her nose does give her character. I saw an interview with Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing and she said that she had a nose job after DD and she regretted it because people no longer recognised her and she believes that this is the reason she has not had much work since.

JK, I'd forgotten all about Jennifer Grey, but amazingly enough her nose job changed her whole look completely. She's right, she was completely unrecognizable. Usually celebs just look like they've had work done. Case in point, Ashlee Simpson. But, to make your whole appearance unrecognizable?!! Yikes.

I was in Lord and Taylor during my lunch break on Friday when she was there. I decided to take a look after shopping and I got pretty close to where she was. I must say that she is MUCH better looking in person. Pictures don't do her that much justice.

hmm I don't know it's not just her nose though. She got that prominent chin thing going on. People give Jennifer Aniston crap cause of her chin but SJP's is just as big. I guess I don't go gaga over her cause (dare i say it) I never really watched SATC.

I think it's great that somebody is putting their child before fashion week. It might take her all day because she is involved in her child's life or she might just want to be there when he returns. I think it's nice that her family comes first now.

    She looks great, always radiant.

Preschool - aka nursery school - has been around for quite some time now. Definitely since the 1950s. And most kids, nowadays, do start at 3 and go two years until they're 5 and ready for kindergarten. I would bet that most posters here went to some form of preschool or nursery school.

    Adriana-
Definitely not 'typical' or flawless, but she has such style and presence-it's very attractive. Girl knows how to rock those looks!
Preschool at 3 is extremely common in larger cities. Yeah, he could also just be going 1/2 day so by the time you drop your kid off, run one errand, you are right back there to pick him up. I know from experience it takes a lot and I am impressed that she admits it and takes it seriously. She isn't having a nanny pick up her son, but gives him the continuity and security of being there for him. Not that she doesn't have a nanny ( I would with her money), but she always looks so sweet and into hr little man. I just have to gush when I see photos of them.

I take my little man 3 days a week. He hates it at first but not 2 seconds after I leave the room hes already stopped crying and playing. I think its great for him me being a working mom to go somewhere that there are other children to interact with, I could have free care with his grandparents but I choose this for more development. I cant imagine just putting a child in kindergarten and having them adapt with no former introduction.
