Elle hosted a VIP dinner at The Box in NY for Julia Stiles' and her new film Raving which she wrote, directed and stars in along with Zooey Deschanel. It's screening at the Tribeca Film Festival where Julia plans to showcase her talent beyond just acting. She also just announced her latest challenge - she's bringing the bestselling book The Bell Jar to the big screen. We love Julia in the Bourne flicks and she obviously has grown a lot since 10 Things I Hate About You.

For more pics of Julia and her (random!) dinner guests Moby and Vanessa Carlton just read more

I hope she plays crazy better in this movie than she did in the Ethan Hawke version of Hamlet. She literally crossed her eyes while playing Ophelia! It's a scene that I have watched dozens of times for its unintentional comedic quality.

There is something I like about her that I like off screen, but since 10 Things I Hate About You, I don't find her appealing on-screen at all. I try to like her! But there was "Down to You" with Freddie Prinze Jr. ("cake is my world!"), Mona Lisa Smile (where she had the worst put-on accent ever) and the before mentioned Hamlet. I also think her part in the Borne Series is really stiff. But that's just my opinion. Good for her for getting into directing.

I love Julia! It seems like we haven't seen her in forever! She needs to be added to the "Celebrity Directory" for the Pop Sugar 100 List!

I am not a fan of her acting talent, but she seems really sweet and incredibly intellegent. I think she could be a really great director!

(That is funny about her crossing her eyes as Opheilia...I can only imagine how out of place that is!)

I can't really see her as Esther Greenwood, but only time will tell whether this is a good move or not.

Ugh. I find her so irritating.

She is a terrible actress. I think she gets more credit than she deserves because she has a deep voice. Have you noticed raspy-voiced actresses tend to get more respect and be taken seriously? (Think Leelee Sobieski, Scarlett Johansson, etc.)

I think she's a hit or miss actress. She was terrific in this film she did with Stockard Channing, where she played this crazy character. But she was terrible in that Freddie Prinze Jr. movie and in that movie where she marries a prince.

She does get prettier as she gets older.

    don't like her.

i think she's totally miscast in the Bourne films. She's the only thing I hate about the Bourne movies.

Its kind of funny because in 10 things i hate about you, there is a scene where she is reading the bell jar. Yes, I know a ton of pointless info!
